Good game Cats. I quietly thought Tuesday and still think now that this game was decided in Baton Rouge last week. Not that UK lost but the way they lost - seemingly uninspired, and getting chewed out fiercely by Calipari - had me thinking this is not what you want, a ticked off UK team coming in that's probably been running stairs and yelled at all week long by Cal. Combine that with the natural bad matchup this was for us in terms of the paint area and UK having big enough guards to hang with our trio on the perimeter and it never felt good. Good fun game though in the second half, but there was indeed just enough of that intensity and defensive effort by UK especially I thought right out of the gates at the start of the game to decide this one. Good luck the rest of the year.

However one wants to analyze it, this loss reduced our chances to the big dance considerably. Not that losing to UK is bad, just the opposite, would of been a resume building quality win. Something Mizzou is in desperate need of.

Pretty even stat line there RTR, looks like 2nd chance points was the difference today.

Great game Cats. We might have a good player or two, but you guys definitely showed you have the better team today. Congrats on the win and best of luck down the road.

No I really feel it was more that UK held most of their wad in at Baton Rouge on Tuesday, playing soft and not looking that into it. Mizzou did pretty much all its capable of today as we are a team with some nice pieces but limited particularly down low. UK's ceiling is whatever they want it to be and today they played with fire and made big plays.

I predict Devin has a hard time getting time on the court with UK.

LOL yeah I was wandering if a father-son brawl was going to erupt good to see they are smiling (although I wonder if that's before or after the game).

Will be interesting the next few years what Melvin does when attending these games, he did say that he was going to have to "root against his own son" so unlike many parents who don the colors of their child it sounds perhaps like during future Mizzou-UK games that Melvin attends to watch Devin he will be decked out in gold just like the above. Which of course is fine by me.

Question for you basketball folks. Why don't coaches lengthen games anymore? In this case, Cal was doing a great job from 3 minutes on of running clock and shortening the game. From 2 minutes on, down by 7 or 4, why didn't Haith try to lengthen the game by fouling? He basically turned it into a situation where you have only 2 chances to get stops, which we didn't. Seems coaches (not just Haith), used to start putting guys on the line earlier, make them make 2 shots. Lengthen the game thereby getting more possessions, meaning more opportunities for a stop/missed free throw.

He will get on the court but certainly the way Mizzou uses Brown/Clarkson/Ross its pretty obvious he would have had a lot more opportunity to shine as a shooter early here. At the end of the day the huge X factor was the really close bond Devin formed with Tyler Ennis (sp?) from Chicago who also signed with UK and you can't really fault any of that. Hell the only reason we got Jordan Clarkson and Alex Oriahki was their friendship with Phil Pressey, that stuff really matters. Its also actually fairly rare in college hoops for the higher profile sons of former players to attend their dad's school. It happens, but when you look for instance at Michigan, they had both Glenn Robinson III and Tim Hardaway Jr. At any rate I hope Devin does well in his career except for when he plays Mizzou.

That's actually a pretty awesome pic.

Dad's in shorts and son in long sleeves. Must be getting a punishment to go outside and clean off the driveway.

Dude you are talking shite to a team that just beat us at home and also talking shite at our own coach. Nobody in this thread is gonna enjoy reading your shite right now, maybe time to just go hit the scotch or take a walk outside for a bit, eh?
