A lot of football left. LSU got in to a 2-team playoff after having 2 losses. It should be more likely today with 4 spots. We'll see. Not saying it will be A&M but a 1-loss non-champion absolutely should be considered if they're one of the best 4.

This is incredible we beat up UT and their fans are still trying to figure out if they can make the playoffs, now we beat the Aggies by 19 and their fans are trying to figure out if they can make the playoffs... 0% but I'm sure one of y'all will end up in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl

0%?

A&M will be favorites in all remaining games. Only 1 tough game left.

First of all, youre not going to the SECCG- so your chances of getting in over any other P5 conference champ are slim to none. If the gumps go to Atlanta and win, youre chances decreased to nil for getting in to the play offs.

Agreed it's unlikely. With 4 spots though. Does an 11-1 non champion deserve to be in over a 2-loss champion, that's the question.

Yeah, 0.05%. At this moment, its an extremely long shot to win the division, let alone go to the play-offs.

In order for aggie to get to atl, the gumps would have to drop 2 games.....and aggie would have to be LSU. If LSU manages to beat the gumps, I'd say they have a pretty good chance at beating the ags.

You also need to find a defense that can stop a power run game.

Not talking about getting to the SECCCG. That ship has sailed probably. We're talking about an 11-1 team getting in to the playoff over a league winner. Whether it's Lousiville, Michigan, Ohio St., etc...

Sounds like everyone agrees that if A&M takes care of business against Ole Miss and gets a little help from the current Top 5 then the Ags will have a decent chance at getting to the playoffs.

Honestly, even if you finish 11-1 you stand between 0-1% chance at the playoffs.

with TAMU and OSU not dropping too far after losses makes it probably that at least one conference may get two teams in. But things would have to fall in line. I think all teams at the top of big 10 would need two L's along with another L by Lville and Wash having an L

I'd put a non champion getting in at closer to 20%. Everything looks set after week 7 but shite always gets crazy the last 2 weeks. It only takes one league fricking up to make this happen. Washington or Clemson losing in their CCG to a 2-loss team. If that happens, the question would be which 11-1 non-champion gets in.

Just my opinion, I doubt a team that does not win their conference will go to the play-offs.

Chaos is coming. But still won't be enough. I believe we are a top four team, but committee loves conference champs.

Here's a comparison for you:

LSU vs Ole Miss 38-21, YDS: OM 325/LSU 515

Bama vs Ole Miss 48-43, YDS: OM 527/Bama 492

Also, against LSU, Ole Miss scored zero in the second half. Their 3rd TD, was a 9 yard drive. They drove the ball on LSU twice all game.

Deserve has nothing to do with it. The BCS was about the two best teams. The CFP is about the four best conference champions. Deal with it.

We will see if you still are saying "Deal with it" if LSU or Aub win the SEC, and you are sitting there with 1 loss.

I most certainly will be. I have never considered the CFP to be about the best teams, and never will. That ship sailed with the BCS. It sank BTW. Just off the coast of Alabama.

That's not how it works exactly.

quote:

The committee’s task is to select the best teams, rank the teams for inclusion in the playoff and selected other bowl games and then assign the teams to bowl sites.

quote:

The selection committee ranks the teams based on conference championships won, strength of schedule, head-to-head results, comparison of results against common opponents and other factors.

quote:

Every FBS team has equal access to the College Football Playoff based on its performance. No team automatically qualifies.

Oklahoma is likely headed to winning the B12 with 2 or 3 losses. They're out. Just need one more conference to F this up.

Aggies and the CFB Playoff

The SEC has zero chance of getting two playoff teams in this year. Your only chance is getting help from others to make it to Atlanta, or hoping the rest of the nation falls apart. IF any conference has a chance to get two in, I'd think it would be the Big Gay 10 this year.
