As an Alabama fan, even I don't agree with the 10 second rule... i'd rather see this shize killed with a better defense.

However, Auburn fans ... no.

TAMU players took dives a couple of times a few years ago, and I lambasted them for that, too.

Man up and play the fricking game.

And don't tell me the correct defense won't slow this hide and seek bull crap down... Bama put the lock down on Florida. Auburn... yes Auburn... beat Oregon and played FSU well. Seems Stanford hasn't had much difficulty in slowing Oregon either. The truth is the ball isn't snapped within 10 seconds of the ball being blown dead very often. If you want to sub.. the run your fat arse off the field at the end of the play so someone else can come in. I love the Crimson Tide, but their defense will dominate again when they have a dominant big man at nose tackle and the defensive back play (overall) improves. Not too sure that will be 2014, but we should be pretty damn good in 2015.

LSU's defense had the TAMU offense pegged

I don't care if Swain faked, or not.

It was just awful acting...

but at the end of the day, don't see how they could prove if a player is faking or not. they'd never pass a rule forcing a player to sit out 'x' amount of playstoo.

your star QB legitimately gets dinged up from roughing the passer on a crucial set of downs and comes out of the game. decides he feels good enough to go back in the next play but can't because of the sit out rule. your team loses.

The idea of making a "hurt" player stay out of the game for some period of time seems pretty logical to me. After all, if we care about player safety and he was so badly hurt he couldn't make it to the sideline he should have to stay out a few minutes afterwards to be appropriately vetted and cleared to return by the medical staff.

If he's an important player then burn a timeout to stop the clock as already allowed. FWIW, a hurt QB won't be the issue anyway. Players faking injuries are typically on the defense to slow down a HUNH.

When substituting for an injured player, only allow one new player to enter. Can be done at anytime.

Auburn did not sub except for the injured player, the clock ran out on the quarter and Arkie was not going fast and we would have had time to sub. Looks fame as crap, but the player never reentered the game.
