I'm just glad Alabama gets Missou towards the middle of the season (and in T-town). At least we'll have a chance to see what this kid has and be able to prepare a little before hand.

He could be a game changer for a team that doesn't have a decent backfield and a plan to defend him.

DGB picked a team where he will have the least impact amd he will develop into a good receiver over time but he will have little impact in overall W/L for Mizzou. I’m just glad he didn’t go to a different SEC team where he would have made a real impact.

Jelly Hogs make me laugh. Cracks me up that they jump on every Mizzou topic because they have been the SEC whipping boys and want somone else to take their place. Sorry boys, ain't gonna happen.

The SEC Freshman of the Year will be either DGB or Trey Williams. Book it.

I think DGB will be successful; I also believe Mizzou will be competitive in the SEC this year.Pinkle has really done a good job with them.

Not sure Trey Williams will do as well. CMike is damned good when healthy which will limit is playing time. I also think that TAMU will have some growing pains with a new HC, QB,etc.

Is DGB still spending time at TE?

I think it will be a lot like what teams did to us when we had A.J. Green. Double (or triple) him every down and make someone else beat you. It worked against us when A.J. was the only weapon we really had (2010). We'll see how it goes for Mizzou. He's a gifted player, no doubt.

The scoreboard at Kyle Field should look like a pinball machine when Missouri comes to town this year. Both run wide open offenses, and have no semblance of a defense.

Just come over from Hogville??? DGB is spending time at the Y. Y is at times a tightend player at other times a true wideout. Last few Y's include Rucker, Coffman, Alexander & Egnew, all in the NFL. Alexander went for 1,700 yards and around 15 TD's his senior year from the Y position.

from my Mizzou insider...

quote:

DGB(Beckham #1 prospect) - the only thing that really makes him stand out so far is his height. He looks like a freshman most the time. I don't think he makes an immediate impact other than in certain spots, like the goal line. He may be great someday, but anyone thinking he would look like Calvin Johnson as a freshman needs to be patient.

Dallas, that quote came very early in camp, first week I think. I don't think any freshmen really look good during the first days, they're overwhelmed and trying to learn so much.

Since then, he's gotten better. The Y is a great position for him because of its versatility in our offense - TE/WR flex. In practice, he's made a name for himself with some of the blocks he's thrown to give the RBs a hole, in addition to his receiver talents. He'll play this year, and he'll be good. But the ball will be shared between Moe, Lucas, Washington, DGB and a host of other receivers, any of whom can burn an unsuspecting DB.

Yeah, I bet you're just giddy the top-ranked recruit chose Mizzou over Arkansas.

So the answer to my legitimate question, then, is yes - he IS still spending time at TE. Dick.
