You'd think. But justice favors the $$ and celebrity often times.

They're going to charge him with 122 counts of misdemeanor assault to avoid FSU's stringent discipline policy.

Just like aTm without JFF...already making your way to the middle-of-the-pack SEC teams in short order.

He won't be charged.

Tomorrows PC is to explain why. They need time to be ready to answer questions as to why.

Can't be charging him, would make no sense to announce a press conference a day in advance.

Or he's gonna be charged. Given the opportunity before then to turn himself in and bail out, and then they state they grudgingly charge him, tainting the jury pool even more.

I guess it has taken this long for the booster club to collect the money to pay-off the victim to drop the charges.

I don't know what's worse--the fact that you so wholeheartedly believe that bullshite about FSU or A&M--or that you have absolutely ZERO sense of irony.

After all the talk about FSU this season, could you imagine the meltdown if They got dropped and AU played Ohio State?

Pretty sure they can beat Duke without Winston. This is actually better than him getting charged after the game. This way FSU gets the backup playing time plus it proves to the voters they are capable of winning without Winston. I think it's better for FSU in long run.

Marcus Outzen disagrees.

If they were going to charge him you'd think he would just be arrested instead of having a press conference to talk about it.

In a situation like this one, a DA is pretty much always going to have a press conference. He's going to have to explain his actions no matter what he does and there will be hell to pay from either side.

The DA is in a no-win situation given it's a rape case that looks (at least on the surface) like it was covered up by police without much examination, FSU's on the cusp of a national title, and all of Tallahassee had developed a mancrush/crush on Jameis long before word spread of this incident and subsequently prior incidents got out.

In the end, one would hope they just go where the evidence leads them. If that's the case, then everything will fall into place. IF there are charges, then the PD will have a lot to answer for. It's never a PD's job to decide whether or not to charge and not take it to the DA.

eta - And that could be another issue in this whole thing, there could be misconduct or something going on with the PD from the DA's position as well.

They are a top notch ACC team and have been for a while.

That just doesn't mean much.

Keep in mind, FSU has a rule that if even charged with a felony, he has to leave school. Ball game.

I get your point, no team is better with their best player out. The only point I am making is, IF Winston is not able to play in BCSCG, FSU is better off with him not playing against Duke.

Step 2 - Juco

Step 3 - Auburn

eta- although, this a violent sexual offense, so that would probably lead to a different SEC school.

Only a gump would see this silver lining.

I could play QB for Florida State and beat Duke.
