This is as good a list as any. Let's all stop acting like it's OBVIOUS who should be in. Alabama is the only drop dead lock, every other team has to make a case.

I think Clemson is a solid case. Then Washington, then you take either tOSU or Penn State.

The only decision that would piss me off is the inclusion of two Big Ten teams at the exclusion of another conference champ. Take Penn State or Ohio State, depending on whether you stress conference championships/head to head, or strength of schedule and better record.

Y'all would like to play Washington . I don't see how Washington would match up well at all. Would likely be a 35-10 game

So you're admitting Ohio State is better, but you think they should be ranked lower. Good deal.

They're going to protect us by ranking the four teams by how good they actually are? You're making no sense man.

The four best teams need to be matched up, or we’re right back to where we were with the BCS:

1. Bama
2. Clemson
3. Ohio St
4. Michigan

We need 8 team playoff NOW. Honestly, who wants to play the Sooners at the moment?

I honestly believe OU would give Bama there toughest game.

How about SoCal.? They are playing lights out ball.

The current setup is just as unfair and undetermined of a true champ as the old system.

Need P5 conference champs and 3 at large.

1,2,3,4 get byes first round

All award shows week after conference games. Give wild card teams 1 week of practice and chance to take finals. So this year it would be like this.

December 17th

Wild card round: 2 weeks after conference championship games

5 plays 8
6 plays 7

December 24th
Next weekend:
3 plays winner of 6/7
4 plays winner 5/8

New Year's Day : semi finals
1 plays winner of 4/5/8 game
2 plays winner of 3/6/7 game

10 days later Nation title game

My 8 team
Bama
Clemson
Washington
Penn State
tOsu
Michigan
Oklahoma
SoCal

What say u

I think an 8-team playoff where four teams get byes makes no sense. Giving two teams double byes makes even less sense.

1)Bama
2)CLemson
3)Washington
4)PENN STATE

They beat OSU, they won the conference and they have the same number of wins.

So Virginia Tech or Florida, going into yesterday, had a better claim to the playoffs than Ohio State? Nonsense.

Honestly, do you think Penn St or Wash would beat Michigan? Do you think Penn St would beat Ohio St again if they played today? If they decide to include Washington and/or Penn St, go ahead and award the trophy to Bama

Are we not looking for the four BEST teams? Penn St and Wash are not one of the four best. The fans will get screwed if we don’t see Bama, Clemson, OSU and Mich.

Ok, can you please explain why without arbitrarily dismissing my idea. Having top four teams get byes means you want to get ranked as high as possible. Would promote stronger scheduling, make winning conference title games mean something, give 2-3 loss teams still hope. Bring more excitement to more fans bases.

If you are not one of 5 schools this morning, what interest do you have in the Cfp selection show this morning.

If I'm wrong, tell me your plan.

Conf champs only. Otherwise what's the fricking point in even having conferences?

Don't even say tradition. Traditionaly only conference champs went to bowls.

I know Bama backed onto the championship cock a few years ago. So what.

College football isn't equitable enough in terms of scheduling for me to say with any certainty that a team that wins conference A is better than a team with the same record who was runner up in conference B.

An 8-team playoff would mean some teams are playing 16 games. 15 is already too many IMO. If you want 8 teams, fine. Just eliminate all conference championship games, use he BCS formula or something similar to pick the teams, and put he first round games on campus of the top four seeds.

This though I may flip tOSU and Clemson. I think the B1G is the top conference. Plenty of depth. UM and tOSU have a legit shot at winning the playoff given the chance.

Thanks for an honest answer.
That is an issue I had not considered.

The lower divisions play more games in there playoff. Must be a way

So yes, you are comfortable with seeing a team that has lost a third or a quarter of its games go to the postseason over a team that lost one game, to a top five team? I'm not. That's fine if that's how you want it. Not like Mizzou will be impacted anyway.

Conferences are for having regional games that you don't have to travel across the country every week to play. That's it.

DIII only has 10 regular season games and no conference championship game.

There is also no break. They play game 10 and start the playoffs the next week with games every Saturday until it's over.
