and I believe if all Americans had to write a check for their taxes instead of the whole withholding thing, we would demand our government be different. A lot more painful to write a check or even the qrtly payments than withholding.

It's true. Income tax is illegal. It shouldn't exist. The entire tax code is a joke and should be restructured.

BUT Americans, especially conservative Americans are missing a huge part of the problem as they direct their hatred at the government.

-Large corporations are the government. They fund. Buy. And own the government. It's one big family. Singling out the 'gubmint' is doing no one any favors.

-Large corporations find ways to reduce or get out of paying taxes all-together -- while raking in billions in profits.

-The privately owned, international corporation known as The FED takes in a huge chunk of our tax dollars to cover interest on currency creations. A ponzi scheme to the highest degree. Sadly everyone is too worried about what the democrat or republican did to direct attention at this evil monster.

I like how you single out conservatives as if the other side wants anything else other than the government and the Fed taking more money.

Buddy.

I'm not on a team. You frickers are so caught up in this game, red vs blue, you can't look at anything without seeing it through the lens created for you by fox vs cnn.

Most of this board is right leaning. And the OP's point was coming from a conservative perspective, which often points a finger at government without taking into account that government is owned by big business. Those factors influenced my post.

Thats very true. You can see this evolution from corporations grow over the centuries if you research the great families and Houses of Europe.

---------
Actually the OP's point was coming from a business owner's perspective. I'm an independent and don't do lib/con labels - cause I don't fit in them myself. I just am tired of busting my butt for decades building a business, providing jobs for good people, and having to give the govt a large chunk of the proceeds. Especially when they make the environment that my business has to survive in harder each year.
But since you know all about my perspective, feel free to carry on with your crazy arse know it all shite.

So yeah, a conservative's perspective on the matter of government interference.

The government is making life harder for me, the small business owner. (Points finger at government).

It's hard for pro-business, pro-capitalist, pro-work-hard people to point a finger at successful corporations. But they should.

Big business, using it's bureaucratic hand (the government), is making life harder for you. It's not the 'government' as you, and most people think it is. The government is an outreach of powerful private interests. State Capitalism/Crony Capitalism/Fascism/Corporatism. It's all the same vein.

So, to say the 'gubmint' is taking all my money is a grossly incomplete perspective, a perspective that is in fact harming the collectives ability to combat this shite.

frick that. Make them get it in cash and take it down to the IRS office and hand it over to some bureaucrat. We'd have a revolution within months.

I did the math and found that I sent the government far more per month last year than I sent to my mortgage company. Then I had to read the line on the tax form stating "you may be entitled to a refund even if you paid no tax." WTF? That's not a refund. That's a government robbery.

Imagine of it was as 'kosher' to complain about sending billions a year in aid to the Zionist party of Israel as it is to complain about the black man buying beer with food stamps.

I think math takes care of this argument.

I'm not for the nanny state. I'm against welfare as we know it.

But it's really not the poor's fault.

More is spent on porkbarrel bs, foreign aid, corporate swindlerly, criminal interest expense, ect ect, exsederuh.
