Thoughts on the Mcdonalds AA game?

I thought all 4 SEC commits looked fantastic

All 3 schools are getting some real top notch talent. They showed out tonight.

I will also say Malik Newman really struggled tonight and supposedly did yesterday...I dunno if hes used to playing against guys this good. Think he had 0 points but a handful of assists. Will be interesting to see where he ends up between UK, LSU and MSU.

Dozier hit shots from distance and made several quick/no look passes. He played really well. Some guys were just chunking up bricks just to get a shot off.

Newman has definitely played against top talent in EYBL, USA u17 team, etc. Just didn't have a great game. I wouldn't look into that too much. It's an all star game with everybody throwing up shots.

Malik looked bad. Real bad. That being said, I've seen him play 5-10 times in person and he was totally out of whack from his usual game.
Don't think the level of play had anything to do with it either as he's been the under 17 USA teams MVP twice and played all over the country against the top talent as someone else mentioned.
Simmons and Briscoe both looked impressive at times. Was probably most impressed with Dozier as far as SEC guys go. Good get USCe.
It's always hard to judge in all-star games though.

Blakney was all over Malik from the start. Good thing they'll be teammates in the fall so they can go at it all they want.

To me the thing that stands out the most about Simmons is how good he is at passing. He set people up real well all night and didn't just try to hack up shots all night like most people with his talent would do in an all star game. I thought it showed just how mature of a player he is for an 18 year old.
Malik did not look good at all, but I'm not concerned about that.
It was a typical all star game for the most part where people were just throwing up ugly looks.

Simmons was the best passer on the court. He may pass too much though. Needs to look to score more imo

Simmons is a unique player for sure. I really don't know if I have ever seen someone like him before.
Dozier was very impressive. That kid will help SC out a bunch.
Blakeney and Simmons already have great chemistry on the court. That's just a huge bonus to getting those guys.
