The best part of that streak was that it started with only the greatest homer in college baseball history....Warren Morris' 2-run walkoff to win the national championship. The 1997 team hit a homer in every game.

11 hits in a row is crazy. 77 straight games with a homer is inconceivable.

That's insane. With as susperstious as baseball players are I'm sure they were absolutely convinced it was some kind of juju. Hell, it probably was.

Reminds me of '96 Regional in BR when we stomped Ga Tech 29-13, scoring 16 runs in one inning.

Gorilla ball was so insane. I'm glad they've found more of a happy medium with these new balls

I can't wait to see this great Aggie team in Lexington. I hope the Cats can stay on the field with them.

Gorilla ball was just crazy. Every starter for LSU in 97 had double digit homers.

I just think the bats have been deadened too much. We've gone from one extreme to the extremely boring other.

It's gotten much better this year with the new balls I think. But yeah it went from one extreme to the other so quickly I think it really hurt the game. It was like watching a different sport

That may have been true for the last few years, but the change in ball has made a difference.

we will find out for sure in Omaha. Watching that guy from UCLA toss letter high fastballs all game and just get pop out after pop out was one of the most aggravating things you can watch on a baseball field.

Props to UCLA for finding and exploiting the "loophole," but it was terrible. The pitcher's intentional mistakes were rewarded with outs. I really hope Omaha is more exciting this year with the threat of the homerun and power alleys returning.

Aside from that, nice inning, ATM!

Watching that team mow everyone down was so damned impressive.

We were one fluke loss against USC from playing for a spot in the CWS Final again in 1998. We played them three times and beat them the first time and had em on the ropes in the 2nd game.

We were easily capable of winning back-to-back-to-back National Championships.

That's what should be included with those hr stats. Juiced bats and juiced players shouldn't count. That era of baseball is what the wwe is to wrestling..... Fake as hell and borderline unwatchable.

Ironically in the 2nd game you loss to them, LSU didn't hit a home run and that ended the streak didn't it?
