UGA ranked 84th in basketball attendance

averaged a little over 6100/game.

You're a douche. There's a lot of other things to do in Athens than go to a hoops game at the steg. Once we win consistently, attendance will follow. I remember going to a uga, illinois game in gwinnett and there were more illini fans there ( it was cool because we won). We're on the right track tho....

Our attendance got killed with Seton Hall, Mercer, and Norfolk State when only the Watkinsville/Clarke-County crowd went, and there aren't very many of them. Student attendance had to be close to its highest ever. Every conference game was packed.

For whatever reason, and I really don't know why, going to basketball games is not seen as the "cool" thing to do as a student. I really can't put my finger on why but a lot of students just don't care and would rather do other things. I didn't go to as many basketball games as I should have, mostly because it was tough to convince people to go.

As of 2012 numbers, we were 88th in all time tournament appearances and 105th in wins.
Based on performance, attendance is about right. Other schools put far less into their programs and get far more in return.
Fox makes way more than schools like Connecticut, Providence, Xavier, Gonzaga that are in the tournament on a regular basis.
We can't say that it has anything to do with keeping up with the SEC given the performances of most of the rest of the conference over the last 10 years.
Fans and facilities can't be to blame here.

wait, you are saying that 6100 folks actually regularly attended a georgia basketball game?
I would think the ADept declares this as a huge success!
