I don't think they ever coached together.

No one doubts that most Tide fans share the same ideas that Updyke has. It isn't like you guys make it a big secret. The best is all of the threads Bama fans started saying they were glad that the trees at Toomer's died because it was "funny." Typical Updyke Nation, an army of idiots with 25 well-adjusted standing in front of them talking about the class and sophistication of the "real fans." Never change, Updyke Nation.
I'm pretty sure you would like to poison a few Bama fans.

I guess firing a coach is a little more tolerable than having one just taken away from you.

They are gonna hire UABs coach and then shut down UAB round ball.

To be fair, I think at least a couple of these names also appeared on the Tiger Rant as "legit" candidates before JJ got the job.
Maybe a fact but doesn't fit the narrative so you have to ignore it

Timmy B would be correct here. Bama has never had a great coach hired from somewhere else.
CM Newton a nobody before Bama (and still part of the problem in Ttown)
Wimp-Asst to CM
Hobbs-Asst to Wimp
Gotfired- up and comer at a small school
Grant- see gotfired
Timmy B also suffers from jilted by Saban syndrome. He should worry less about Bama and more about his beloved Tigers beating OM and Arky on a REGULAR basis.
Updyke- How the heck is this idiot still alive?

Nobody hires great coaches away from other places very often in any sport, so of course a good but not great program like Alabama won't....unless there is some flaw that makes them available (see Pearl, Bruce).

Forbes 2015 College Basketball's most valuable teams
14. Alabama Crimson Tide
Team value: $12.3 million
One-year change: 41%
Revenue: $15 million
Profit: $8.2 million
Conference: SEC
Head coach: vacant*
Alabama's athletic department is one of the biggest contributors to academic programming, annually sending upwards of $6 million to university initiatives. The basketball team has been succeeding financially despite the poor on-court performance; the Tide haven't been in the NCAA Tournament since 2012, a pitiful streak that recently cost head coach Anthony Grant his job. * Former head coach Anthony Grant was terminated following the 2013-14 season.
We may be delusional but we have money to hire a top 20, or even top 10 coach....we shall see

Timmy B is an assgasket, he hates Alabama. Bama can throw around enough money to hire a very good coach. Remember all the naysayers, Brando included that said we would never hire Nick Saban. This is ONE time that Harvey Updyke was right on target.

Looks like it's going to be Crean, fellas. I'm not very excited about this hire. It's going to be sold as we stole IU's basketball coach when in reality, it's more akin to Curry bolting for Kentucky before we could fire his arse. Guess we'll have to live with this decision for a few years and it may work out. He's got to be an upgrade from Grant, but it's not the home run hire I wanted. I'd be happier with anyone on my previous list not named Prohm over Crean, but what do I know? I'm a Bama fan, so by default, according to some on this board, I don't know jack sh*t about basketball. But I did know enough to know that Grant has been here way too long and we couldn't do much worse. Glad for the change if nothing else, and a fresh start. I hope I'm wrong and Crean works like a charm.

How does that make any sense? Because someone saw it up and put it on the rant?
Some of you guys . . . geez.

Based on what? I'm pretty sure he's busy working on a plan right now to win a few tourney games.
