I want mad about the USA post at all. I understood the sentiment. But you're talking about Gumpville. They lost their minds.

I was more pissed about him overmoderating during the slowest part of the off-season. Topics were staying on the front page for weeks. It turned the board into a June Gump circle jerk.

He just brought single dollar bills.

Takes a while to count 25 million of those.

Your source got it wrong. Battle brought it with him in quarters inside pill bottles.

Maybe they drove into Kansas City for some BBQ.

You guys need to shut up about soccer or we'll ban you too. Nobody cares.

Reading (not posting) some of the WSU comments on the matter are just funny. You'd think they were a historical powerhouse or something. I'll admit, the past few years, Marshall has had them rolling. But, the way they dismiss Bama as HAVING BEEN and as having the potential to AGAIN be a very good basketball school is just laughable. You'd think they were kentucky and we were auburn, to hear them tell it.

Anyway, if I were a coach at WSU, in the whatever conference, and Bama came calling with 3-4 million dollars per year, an athletic department second to none, SEC Network exposure, and the knowledge that I can recruit 4 and 5 star players vs. 2 and 3 star players, I think I'd give them serious consideration.

Before coming back to Alabama? Only if Battle said "Okay try this BBQ then come back to Bama with me and have our BBQ.. if after that you wanna come back to Kansas then go right ahead"

This is dragging out too long! I've got a bottle of Knob Creek waiting to celebrate the hiring. Somebody tell Bill to quit screwing around and get the signature and schedule the presser.

.any chance we bring in Ron Baker as a graduate transfer?

highly doubtful. that would be an ultimate gut punch to the shocker fans.

Whenever someone asks about good BBQ in Alabama, Archibald's is always my top answer. I'm starting to reconsider, though, because that shite is the definition of hole-in-the-wall and I'd hate for a state secret to become public knowledge.

I've been reading up on the shocker board, and they really seem amazed that we're in the conversation, and have missed the major reason both Alabama and Texas are more appealing than ever... The TV deals. With the SEC network and the Longhorn Network, they are both desperate for elite level basketball games to air. And it why I'm surprised Texas is acting cheap, and putting a ceiling at 3 million.

Moralism.

It may not be present with the UT booster network, but it certainly exists within the university itself. They don't want to be seen as overly concerned with athletics, despite the fact that they are the most profitable AD in the country.

But they should have learned their lesson about being cheap after they bought all of those statutes.

Yeah everyone always assumes they are going to go out and bring in these massive coaches, but they haven't actually done that.

I can't decide if the lack of leaks is good or bad.

I'm leaning towards good because I assume if he were leaving he'd prefer to address the team before anything got out.

Plus we haven't gotten word of Battle arriving back in Tuscaloosa.
