Any shot?

Notre Dame offensive lineman Matt Hegarty will play football elsewhere in 2015, the senior told ESPN.com on Wednesday in a statement.

The 6-foot-4.5, 295-pound Hegarty had overcome a stroke in 2012 to become a regular on the Fighting Irish's offensive line, starting 11 of 13 games last season at center and guard.

The Aztec, New Mexico, native is expected to graduate in May. He would be eligible to play at another school this coming season.

Doubtful. not unless he's going to step in and play Center, which may not be beneficial longterm (need to let Sims, Wynn, Edwards, Kublanow or someone learn and run the OL for a year or two).

I thought the SEC banned these types of transfers?

What, those that have had strokes?

Don't see any reason why we'd want him.

I believe Wynn will be the starter at center and I think it will be decided pretty early.

Sorry, I obviously don't get it.

Is he an All-American or something?

It's cool to have your own opinion. I would personally rather take a proven OL over some scrub walk-on getting the 85th scholarship, but that is just me.

There is no question we would be better off with a center coming in. We rotate offense lineman quite a bit. Also, it's not like he would be far behind on the playbook.....

If we have an open scholarship and he wanted to come to UGA, it would be completely stupid not to take him....which is what you said

Please show me where I said it would be stupid.

I just don't think it's necessary.

I would rather have Wynn in there getting reps. While we do rotate lineman, rarely does that include the center.

And as far as that 85th scholly, I'd rather give it to a recruit like a Roquan Smith or someone that may stick around a while.

I'm not a big one and done guy, especially if he's there just for depth.

What the hell.

You're the one that asked the question.

I give a legit answer and you didn't like It and now you call me stupid?

Why did you ask the question if you didn't expect opinions or points of view different than yours?

And by the looks of things no one else thinks it is as brilliant an idea as you.
