The national media has been (rightfully) hammering Louisville over probable cause existing to believe one of their players raped two people: LINK

Yet, it has now been revealed that Duke player Rasheed Sulaimon is also accused of sexually assaulting two Duke students during the 2013-2104 season, and further that Coach K was aware of these accusations at the time, yet Sulaimon wasn't dismissed from the team until 3 weeks ago. LINK /

Now, if any other NCAA program (except maybe North Carolina) left an accused rapist on the team for a year after the accusations, they would be crucified by the PC crowd and national media. But Duke? Hardly a peep by anyone!

Maybe they had to wait until there was enough evidence to move forward

K is above reproach in the national media. The narrative on him has already been written and it's not changing.

The alleged victims in Duke didn't report their accusations to anyone. Not to the police, not to the school. They were just going around saying he assaulted them. They chose not to pursue their accusations. Last time Duke reacted swiftly to unverified sexual asault allegations, it didn't end so well, although you were probably one of those people with pitchforks demanding that Durham be razed to the ground.

Chris Jones is being charged in a court of law with rape, on the other hand.

Most people would have said the same about Paterno before the shtf.

While I agree Coack K gets too much of a pass with the media, one can't really fault him here. The women in question did not report it to any authorities.

I would highly doubt anything becomes of the story and Coack K - and his untouchable reputation - lives on for another day. Right or wrong.

Given their history, I think Duke's probably right to proceed with caution in regard to punishing those accused of sexual assault but not proven guilty.

Not even remotely the same. One of Chris Jones' accusers is laying in the hospital and both reported it to the police. Sulaimon's accusations are literally just rumors that were shared with certain people in a "support group" with no official reports even attempted to be filed. Even after the "victims" told other people about it.
