Tennessee counting chickens before they hatch

Earlier in the basketball seasons, Tennessee fans were bragging about being 4-1 in the conference and how funny it was that Cuonzo Martin was struggling at Cal. Now both teams are 6-9 in their respective conferences and Tennessee has home losses to Alabama, Mississippi St., and Vandy. I bring this up because Tennessee fans have been acing like their football team is God's great gift to this Earth during the offseason. Will this basketball season help them realize that they should wait until their football team wins at least 8 games in a season to start acting like the conference favorites?

We knew before the season our basketball team was trash. But we just had to start 12-5 and 4-1 to get hopes up. Now it's obvious we are garbage. The UT-UF game on Saturday will be a clash of dumpster fires.
And it's not comparable to our football team. We know they will be good, at least 8-4 barring injuries. And knowing UGA's tendency to always choke away the East, don't be surprised if we're in Atlanta next year.

It's because Tennessee people, in general, have an over-inflated opinion of themselves and this carries over to their opinion of their sports teams. For instance, Tennessee acts like they are a longtime traditional football power, when in fact except for a couple of years, which were an aberration, they have performed in a very mediocre fashion.

Give Donnie Tyndall last year's roster and he would be buttfricking most teams in this conference.
