At one point there were 9 threads about Patterson on the front page of the LSURB. If that ain't a melt, I don't know what is. Of course, those threads were started by people who know nothing about recruiting, but the rank and file still melted
5-6 people started shite threads, that ain't a melt. Joe McKnight was a melt. Most of us knew Patterson wasn't coming to LSU.
The staff offered Franks long before Patterson., he'll be a good one. Patterson will have a chance to step in and play at Ole Miss from day one. They better have some patience.

many scout's opinion
Franks has a huge arm and Patterson is an accurate passer without the same cannon. That's the word on these two. I'm not trying to mess with you. Just relax dude.

Go watch the film and tell me what you see...cuz I am not seeing much difference except SP is more accurate and agile/able to throw on the run....and Franks is like 4 inches taller.

So the only advantage FF has is height?

No that's what you choose to hear.No one knows which will be better but the fact of the matter is LSU's staff preferred Frank's.Whether or not it was the right choice is yet to be determined

Franks has a bigger arm, Patterson is extremely accurate on the move. It's the only major difference that matters in college. LSU felt they had seen enough to offer Franks before Patterson, so I assume they had good reason. Both have great potential.

calvary highlights from championship game
Shea is the more "dual threat" out of him and franks IMO in a scrambler type of way.
franks is built like a 6'5 skinnier version of joe flacco. he's a tall pocket passer type QB.

The Flacco & Franks comparison is accurate with Franks being a more nimble version.
I see Patterson and think a less spastic JFF...or maybe more like Arron Rogers. Scrambles to get away from pressure but keeps eye pealed for an open receiver.

I hope both players pan out and we get a chance to see both QBs dueling it out on Saturdays.

I watched the film, that's why I made that initial comment. This is getting ridiculous.

Shea Patterson is so polished; but when I look at film I see Franks actually taking snaps under center and not in the shotgun all day. But I digress.

I agree. But ours is better.
I'll guess we'll have to wait and see. Both QB's wanted to be the only one recruited in their class. Both attended LSU's camp. Only one had experience operating from under center.
quote:
Most recruiting services have Patterson listed as “pro-style” and LSU commit Feliepe Franks as “dual-threat,” but if you look at their two highlight videos (which you can find in our Media Gallery), you’ll see that Franks often operates from under center in his current system, whereas Patterson works more as a shotgun passer, much like Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris did in high school. 3) I also want to remind you of something I wrote back in July after attending LSU’s summer camp: “Patterson was recently elevated in Scout’s quarterback prospect rankings to the No. 1 spot, although I would hesitate to rank him higher than Franks, who in my opinion was every bit as impressive at the camp and has a stronger arm.”
And that's well before Patterson's commitment to Ole Miss.

Coach Cam knows more about QB talent than any 10 of twerps on this board combined...both QBs dueled right in front of Cam and other knowledgeable observers...all concluded that Franks was the better of the two QBs...you punks on here can eat one...time will tell...Franks is bigger, stronger, taller, and more physically built to take the SEC beatings...take that!

It's a losing Battle against Hugh Freeze. The man wins Championships and is practically a one man NFL QB pipeline! I'm surprised Franks hasnt commited to Ole Miss yet.

Question for LSU fans regarding Franks
One of the 2 is already an NFL prototype, the other is 5'11". Freeze knows it, that's why Ole Miss offered Franks. Hell 9 out of the 14 teams in the SEC offered Franks, is there a thread trolling all of them, including Ole Miss because he's committed to LSU? Get a life.
To be fair, I think they BOTH have high ceilings.
Franks as a Cam Newton-type (more in height and build than as a runner); and Patterson as a Brees-type (also as far as body type and system best suited for him).
