We were #1 for like 2 days when Pearl beat Memphis, then we got beat by Vandy.

Maybe we can be No.1 wire to wire. I wonder if that has happened before? Probably, it has by UCLA but not sure if since then

The closest I can remember was the '91 UNLV team. One of those GOAT teams from start to the final game; a close upset loss to Duke.

I don't follow basketball anymore, but think it has been done. I know several have come close. Michael Jordan's '84 UNC team went 21-0 and had been ranked #1 since the pre-season, until they came to Arkansas.
The '91 UNLV team went 34-0 until losing to Duke in the NCAAT Championship game by 2 points.
