Over the last 5 or so years at the very first sign of trouble in basketball or baseball the Fire our coach people come out of the woodworks. Are the same people wanting to fire both coaches or are some pro Ak anti Bianco or visa versa groups as well?

I wanted to fire AK in Marshalls first year. Now I'm firmly behind him.

DGAF about college baseball.

Yes. Before you know it they will be asking to fire Freeze.

I've been on the fire AK train for a while, but never wanted to fire Bianco. I'm now tentatively behind AK, and my status with Bianco obviously hasn't changed.

They're idiots.

Kennedy is as good of a coach as Ole Miss can ever hope to get in basketball. We dont have a history of going to the tourney or going deep in it, or of getting players to the League and our current arena sucks arse.

Bianco, skirp's comparison to Mullen aside (Bianco has actually beaten good teams), got us to be a nationally recognized name. We have guys from fricking Washington. His only big issue was getting over the hump in Supers, but now he's over that hump and got us to the last four standing.

I think all three of our big sport coaches are great and I hope we keep them as long as they'll have us.

I've never been on the fire Bianco crowd but I've been on the fire AK group. Bianco built our program to be Omaha or bust. AK has built the basketball program as a bubble team. If Freeze built the football program to be a constant 8 to 9 win team and never won the west it would be the same thing Bianco dealt with before last year. I don't think anybody would call for Freeze to be fired if that happened.

I've never thought Bianco should be fired and the people saying that he should have been are more insane than the ones calling for Kennedy's job. Ole Miss baseball is what it is today because of Mike.

I have said before I thought Kennedy should be fired but I've recanted that statement.

If we stayed at 8-9 wins a year for a decade with no title then people would start calling for his head

Maybe?

I still think you can never fire Bianco enough. It's good luck.

True.

I've never called for Bianco's head, but I doubted Kennedy at times. Hell, who wants to settle for mediocrity even if that's all you're destined to have?

The fact is sometimes you get tired of watching the same old shite happen every year. At least with a new coach, there's a sense of refreshment that comes along with it.

I've never been happier for an Ole Miss coach than I was Bianco last year when we went to the CWS. We think we as fans have been heartbroken at all of the Super Regional losses. Bianco and his family have had to deal with that and a mountain of pressure to produce or GTFO.

You should've seen the smile on his face when he was talking about it. That meant a ton more to him than it did to any of us. I was happy for coach, hopefully this team can go all the way this year or next.

There may be a lot of question marks surrounding this team but if you look at it going forward, the staying power of the program is incredible. We'll return every position player, not just starter but position player, in 2016 except for Knight and Orvis. Pitching could take a hit but there are a lot of good arms on the roster and in JuCo that Laff can develop.

If vandy doesn't repeat I will be surprised. They are going to be sick and we have to play them in Nashville.

I just think when you are mentioning firing a coach it should be warranted. For instance after the season(year) that shall never be mentioned again, there was no argument for Nutt. It was time to go. Firing a guy that gets 20 wins a year in basketball would be stupid.

both coaches have experienced success at Ole Miss. More than most any coach before them.....and we have folks that have called for their heads (I was one of those idiots btw with Kennedy) But rule one....You can't fire a coach unless they are leading a program to failure...neither has not remotely done that yet. Need to embrace both of them.....for a long time. :

That's debatable. Coach Nutt had a lot of gas left in his tank. Back to back New Years day bowls. Quite the feat, indeed. He won the West twice in five years, whereas Ole Miss might not win it in my lifetime. I have a feeling firing Nutt will come back to haunt this fanbase. You just sit back and watch

when you are attempting to recruit them to play in the Tad Pad, it's not an easy task.

The new arena should at least make a few more players come and visit Ole Miss.

It wouldn't hurt to make one Cinderella run to the elite 8 or final 4.
