We had a great chance at that Cinderella run but botched it a couple years ago.

frick no it isn't. Say what you want about Andy Kennedy but the guy has an eye for talent. The quality of players he'll start to get once the Pavilion opens will definitely improve. I'm excited about the future of Ole Miss Basketball.

I was on the fire Bianco wagon prior to Omaha because he had regressed for years and looked like he would never get over the hump. We have no excuse not to be an Omaha team every 4-5 years with our resources and fan support. However, I've always really liked the guy and was extremely happy that he was able to finally pop the cherry and allow us to keep him.

Kennedy still doesn't have my full support. Yeah he's been able to keep our dreadful program mediocre, but I grow weary of the multiple inexcusable losses every single year. Only being able to land a 12 seed with the veterans we had two years ago was laughable, and he only got that after a miraculous SECT run. His comparitive success has also been masked by a floundering and completely inept league as a whole.

Honestly it's selfish to expect anything else out of him with what he has to work with, but I personally don't like having that attitude.

How many NBA players did we have on that team two years ago?

Kennedy put together a good group of guys. Were there upsetting losses? Of course, that is basketball. There is no doubt who has the worst basketball tradition in basketball in the SEC. And until next year we had been playing in a outdated spaceship. So imagine having no choice but to take second rate talent and then convince it to come play in the Tad Pad. The guy has a great eye for talent. I mean how many just BUST players has he had? Demarco Cox maybe? And he should have been playing football anyway.

He hasn't had many busts, but he's also not had many players that seriously improved over their careers. Holloway did, but he's the only one I can remember that saw huge improvement.

Henderson regressed
Perez regressed
Summers really regressed
Millinghaus (wtf happened to him?)
Warren never really got any better
Buckner had a good run in the last half of his senior year, but he underachieved big time before that.

Saiz has improved dramatically. I wouldn't say Marshall regressed. He just had nobody down low to take pressure off him.

Repeating in college baseball is not very likely. Anything can happen in baseball, especially when you get into tournament play at the end of the year.

Not really. You knew what you were getting from Henderson. A 6'2 volume shooter from 3 can only do so much
quote:

Summers really regressed
He's had a letdown of a senior campaign (while still averaging 13 and 4), but steadily improved from his freshman through junior years
quote:

Millinghaus (wtf happened to him?)
He wasn't any good to begin with
quote:

Warren never really got any better
He averaged almost 20 a game and shot 40% for his career. Can you really ask for more considering how much Warren shot the ball?

He was 10x better at getting to the basket and passing in year 2 then year 1. It's not even close.

erez regressed

From what? He was always a 6-9 shooter who didn't play in the system and wasnt physical.

Summers really regressed

Summer has improved so damn much since his Fr year. His Fr year he was a pass first PG who could hit the open shot when it came to him. Now he is our go to guy in key moments and has as good of a mid range game as there is in college. He also is super solid with the ball.

Millinghaus (wtf happened to him?)

Always sucked and was run off because of it.

So he underachieved before that or he improved? Your talking out of both sides of your mouth.

I've never wanted to fire AK. We have never had a really bad year and we have had some good years with him without being able to recruit. He will be special with a new stadium IMHO.

Bianco I really don't care......

I don't understand how calling someone a bad recruiter is a good defense.

This is the first year I have been impressed with Kennedy. He has done a great job so far.

And I think the people calling for Bianco's head before the Omaha run were justified. Ole Miss pours a lot of money into baseball.

The Tad Pad is awful I seriously don't know how he is able to bring anyone to Ole Miss with it. If he still cant recruit with a new stadium then yes their is a problem.

If you look at star ratings, we have the least amount of talent in the conference yet we are T-2. He does more with less. The idea is if we could put him in a position to recruit better talent then who knows what the ceiling would be.
