Tyren Jones was suspended indefinitely Tuesday for "conduct not to the standard of the Alabama football program," coach Nick Saban said in a statement from UA media relations.

Jones was the Tide's fourth-leading rusher last fall with 224 yards on 36 carries. He held away from the practice field for a week in the fall for disciplinary reasons as well.

"If Tyren Jones does what he's supposed to, maybe he'll be back sometime soon," Saban said Oct. 28..

Announcing a suspension in the offseason like this is a really bad sign IMO. Seems to me he usually waits til his PC at the start of spring practice to announce things like this.

If Drake is limited and Jones is still in the doghouse, would that just leave us with 2 (Henry, Bo) healthy scholarship RBs for A-Day? I assume Ronnie Clark won't be 100%

If Jones is gone it means either Bo or Harris is one injury away from meaningful PT. Not ideal considering neither has any college experience

There have been A LOT of very good true freshman RB's in the past

Thanks. Knew I was forgetting someone. Appropriate since he has been one of the more forgotten members of the '15 class it seems

No doubt. There have also been A LOT that needed a year or two to adjust to the collegiate level

Bye Bye Mr. Jones. 2nd time he has been suspended. Who would have guessed that all 4 of the RBs Bama signed in the 2013 class would be gone after 3 years. Henry will jump to the NFL after this year.

Is this only his second time being suspended? It feels like his fourth.

all these ungratefull people have to do is keep their nose clean for 3-4 years and do the right thing. How many idiots have to be suspended or kicked off the team by NS before they learn their lesson.

This is why I liked Altee more. Wish we'd kept him instead

No. I actually liked Altee better at rb. And I only really remember him fricking up once, but my memory isn't what it once was.

Tyren passed him on the depth chart after Altee's arrest and couldn't get the spot back just because, that's how Saban does things. But Altee was ahead of Tyren until that incident.

Doesn't matter now. I'm all in on Damien "Omen" Harris.

Was referring strictly to being in the doghouse. He was in and out regularly. I liked him better as a runner also.
