Auburn City Schools has chosen Adam Winegarden as its new head football coach, the school announced today. Before heading to Fairhope, he was the head coach at Hillcrest Tuscaloosa for two years, and lost only three games during his tenure there.

Winegarden grew up in Memphis, Tenn., and played quarterback at the University of Chattanooga. He spent 10 seasons coaching at Dalton (Ga.) High, the final two as the team’s head coach.

Good to know AHS has no desire to be relevant in 7A football.

The only way we can survive is with the help of the University. This guy better realize that. Shoulda made a big-time run at the guy at Hewitt-Trussville, one of Gus's old QBs
