Are you Ags really trying to argue that you were "close" to a title in a year that you finished in 3rd place? 8 points = 100 points when you're a loser. Close means absolutely nothing. We ain't talking about hand grenades.

You lost @ home to UF. You lost @ home to LSU. And everyone was so impressed by A&M beating (almost choking to) Bama the week after OT with LSU that Bama was in the National Championship about a month later. Grats.

One more time, you played Bama, along with several other teams, after you lost to LSU and UF. Had you won either of those games then the aTm-Bama game is MUCH more significant. Therefore, it's safe to assume that game, along with the rest of the season, would have played out much differently. If you can't grasp that, then I'm sorry. It's really isn't that complicated.

If you want to apply Ricky Bobby logic of if you ain't first you're last then there is no need to tell any team that "they didn't even sniff" an sec west title because by your definition NOBODY can do that.

Yea I think A&M would have still beaten Bama b/c Saban at that point had no clue how to stop the A&M offense for shite.
Even in year two with him prepping for it all summer A&M still dropped 42 points on them.

Yeah, assuming Bama would have approached that game the same if it had been, essentially, the SEC West championship game isn't ridiculous either. Wow.

True if you want to argue semantics then it is not a "fact" because "being close" is not a definable term. I think one win away is close for some reason you don't.
Your OPINION that A&M was not close is the equivalent of thinking Gigli is the greatest movie ever. It's asinine
