Get a Google Chromecast or an Amazon Fire Stick... Only ~40 bucks and you can stream all kinds of shows and video through your iPad straight to the TV in your hotel room.. Like MSU baseball games on SEC Network.

Bluetooth ear piece
Audible account
Power converter so you can plug computer in
Radar detector
Wifi hotspot if your company will pay for it.
Google maps app
Hilton app

This is pretty much my Don't Leave Home Without list

There are books on tape apps. Audible is one, and I think it's affiliated with Amazon.

Google Chromecast won't work on some hotel TVs. Buddy of mine bought one for that purpose and quit taking it with him because it wouldn't work so often. He just watches stuff on his iPad now.

Be prepared to buy several phone charger replacements.

Find as many podcasts that interest you as possible.

Audible.com

Fire stick

A credit card that gives rewards for gas, hotels, flights, etc...

Oh the other thing that will make you life easier traveling for work, but duplicates of everything except your clothes. I have travel bag with toiletries that never leaves my suitcase. Same thing with my electronics and chargers. Amazing how much time you spend packing/ looking for those items on a weekly basis.

A small flashlight it sucks to be on an upper floor during an power outage. I carry a few clothes pins for rooms with the wall mounted a/c & heater to keep the damn window curtains out of the way.

Also, not sure what type of dress code you have, but investing in quality non-wrinkle clothes is clutch. Brooks Brothers makes decent ones for business casual.

Ironing in a hotel room is terrible.

Also depending on the hotel, where your room is located in said hotel and what may be going on at said hotel it doesn't hurt to have some ear plugs

Finally hit the big time as a traveling cheese salesman or are you now a freelance cow washer? Living the MSU dream either way.

Waze app (good for traffic and warnings of speed traps in major cities)
Kindle app (they offer 2 to 3 dollar audiobooks if you buy the Kindle print version, which is usually only a few dollars as well. A lot cheaper than the normal $35-$50 for an audiobook)
External hard drive for movies, or a Netflix account. I travel a lot overseas and can't use Netflix but external hard drive's are very very helpful.

No more Terry Crews voice. It's not worth the space

join one, maybe two hotel chains rewards.

I use
Marriott
Hilton

This allows me to maximize my business travel into free hotels when the need arises. Do the same for your airlines.

If you are driving a bunch, get a plug in gps recorder that will log miles. It helps for tax time.

Lolque... I just liked it for the voice novelty, but getting rid of Terry Crews was unforgivable.
