So no more clarification as of yet? Gonna be a long day of checking the internets today.

Couple thoughts after reading MUBobby and letting it soak in. There is NO WAY the DC job wasn't discussed with Coach Kul before the Odom hire. Those 2 names were being discussed by EVERYONE as the likely hires. According to MUBobby, Kul never expressed any interest in the DC job. I have a hard time believing that if true he's going anywhere for a DC job at this time, especially Illinois, especially for a CO-DC job. Hard to hold it against GP if the guy never said, "Hey, I think I've earned the DC job." or "Hey, I'm interested in Stec's job when he leaves."

Bad timing right now, but if Mizzou can get on top of this and by that I mean keep Kul around, then I actually think this can play out in Mizzou's favor to close out the recruiting period. They can say look at how in demand Kul is but he isn't going anywhere. He is so in demand, others would try to leak stories that try to hold him back but he too, is #MizzouMade.

Illini.

Lol.

"Co defensive coordinator"

Lol.

I guess this is the only way Illinois thinks they can get Beckner, sounds like a last ditch effort by Beckman to salvage what's left of his job.

Should net Kul a raise though.

Just give the guy the raise, and the "Assistant HC" title, (which is lol as well), and finish strong in recruiting.

If he actually goes, then see ya, enjoy being on the street in one or two years after Beckman gets canned. Maybe you can get the DC job at SMS with Steck.

Pinkel is loyal to a fault. If Kul had written in his diary that he wanted the DC job, Pinkel would have given it to him. Pinkel also isn't stupid, Mizzou is only known for its DLine and Beckner is in play. No way he passes on Kul unless Kul gives the OK.

Add to the fact, Kul is about to be loaded up with some real talent, I just don't see it happening. But then Kiffen was going to S.F. right?

Kul's agent should be embarrassed that all he could come up with for his client is CoDC and DL at Illinois where the staff is about to be fired. Grinch's guy at least got him WSU, which is a nice place to live.

Kul didn't get a raise after Odom was hired, but that doesn't mean a raise wasn't going to be negotiated. This smells like the opening round of negotiations to me. After 23 years together, would Kul really step on Pinkels dick, 1 week before Beckner visits?

No way Kul would do that to Pinkel, but Beckman would do this to frick with Pinkel. Beckman acted pissy over the Ricker hire. I think this a grenade lobbed back at Pinkel. Kind of a "How do YOU like how it feels?"

Kul deserved a raise anyway. Kul or his agent should listen to offers if they come his way, but leaving for THAT situation seems crazy and illogical.

This on one of the Illini Football sites:

Mon, 01/26/2015 - 9:59am | Matt Daniels
Missouri defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski is set to become the co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach at Illinois, a source close to the program confirmed to The News-Gazette on Monday morning.

Football Scoop first reported Kuligowski was offered the chance to join Tim Beckman's staff late Sunday night and would likely accept.

Last night Illinois felt confident Kuligowski would accept their offer. If Gary persuaded him to stay Pinkel did something strong

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but if football scoop is backing off of their assertion, that has to be a good thing for Mizzou.

If this thing never had legs to begin with then frick YOU footballscoop.

You're welcome, fellow Mizzou fans. You can send thanks and gifts to the Mizzou Student Center addressed to KCMOTiger...I promise to share with the ladies. Natty light and everclear preferred.

Good. It seems like it helped get him more money, which I'm fine with. Matter is usually pretty good with this kind of info.

Hey Illinois!!!

Hey Footballscoop!!!!

Mizzou DL job > Illini co-DC job

$300k at Mizzou > $400k at Illinois :doublebird:

Now go start blasting that to all of the recruits. Mizzou is such a better program that we if Coach Kul is willing to stay, then each of those recruits have to think long and hard why that may be.

The Illini melt starts on page 15

Eta: it's a pretty weak melt.
