I'll start off by saying this. I've watched B1G football and tried to watch it through the whole game, but there is just something off every time I watch it. It's almost like it's....stale in a sense. Like, you're watching paint dry. I think it might be the result of programs still going with the "old money" approach. I think a lot of programs in the big ten have held on to old baggage from years past and just need to start anew like Michigan and Ohio State recently. I know not all programs in there are of Ohio State's caliber or Michigan....but I mean Fitzgerald has Northwestern doing pretty good for what its worth.

The B1G needs more coaches like Fitzgerald and Urban(relative to the program) at places like Iowa and Minnesota. May or may not happen, but it will be interesting to see if the Yankees can rise up to the occasion like the SEC from 2006-2013. You never know...the addition of Saban in the SEC caused the entire conference to shift as far as coaching changes, philosophies, and even program support.

TL;dr:

B1G gaining chest. Would you like to see them keep being successful or just watch their athletics go to shite like in years past?

Yes. If college football is just the SEC it turns into college baseball.

It's good for college football when those Yankees are good, IMO.

Parity is a great thing for the sport.

One team in the Big Ten has gotten better. The conference as a whole is complete shite.

You're going to get your wish. Harbaugh will have them consistently back in the top 10 in 2 years IMO.

I really don't think they've improved as much as people think. Bama totally handed them the game after almost running them out the stadium the first quarter and a half. The SEC was down this year big time and even saying that O St. Would be around LSU's record if they played in SEC last year. Oregon wasn't impressive at all either. 5 turnovers gave them the FSU game and bama could and would have just ran the ball right over them as O St did. So I'm happy espn got thier dream match up and everyone gets to take a shot at the SEC but the streak will start again and last longer than the first one did in my opinion.

Yes. But the last 10 years was needed. The media always had a bias to ND and the Big 10, even though they have had little success. We have just balanced the perception, and rightly so.

Yea, well sort of, but I'd still like to be able to sleep walk through a game with their bottom feeders... ah well.... maybe someday.... *sigh*.

You clearly didn't notice the first half stats of that game.

And FWIW, yes I'm glad the B1G is improving. I'd also like to see Texas and USC back on top. I enjoy the regional superpowers.

Yes. Best thing for college football (and the SEC) was what happened this year.

We need to see interest from around the country. I am all SEC and I am sick of the SEC dominating.

Not me. I like the parity in the sport. It is boring if only the same 20 teams can win a national title. It would have been just as good for the sport if Oregon would have won for that reason.

It'll be better once people recognize the Big Ten will never be what it once was, considering it is in a region that'll never have the same importance it once had.

Otherwise I'm fine with the Big Ten being competitive again.

I realize that. I was more or less implying that they're beginning or have been in the slow process of investing and supporting on an SEC level with athletics. A snowball effect if you will, with different programs, stemming from Harbaugh and Urban Meyer.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'd also love to see some upsets. But even in those years with a surprise Stanford or Oklahoma State winning their respective conference, I enjoy seeing the traditional football schools doing well.
