Do any teams not have a complete coaching staff for recruiting season?

Alabama hasn't replaced Steele or Thompson.

Of course we currently have the best recruiting class in a decade, so, we will probably manage.

teams just designate support staff guys so they can hit the road and recruit... it's not like it really puts you at that much of a disadvantage, especially if those recruits have relationships with the non-field coaching guys

This. We actually had GAs designated as recruiters last year before we got Pruitt and the rest of the staff hired. In some cases it actually helped a lot, seeing as the GAs are much closer to the player's age but still know enough about the program and school to sell it like a coach.
