IMO, LSU and Auburn made the biggest recruiting upgrades

This off-season so far for SEC teams. Who knows about coaching upgrades until the product is shown on the field.
So far I have liked what Auburn has done this off-season for coaching moves. Going to be hard to take down Alabama though.

When your program carries the weight those two do, hiring for recruiting purposes is really pretty foolish. Your recruiting is going to be good regardless, the only thing determining your success is the quality of your coaches.
Realistically the only thing that is going to cause you to lose games is poor coaching, having the number 4 recruiting class instead of 8 is irrelevant.

I agree for the most part.

LSU' s Dline recruiting has dropped off considerably the last few years. A change was needed and it couldn't have been a better one

Not disagreeing, I think O is a fine DL coach and a good hire.

Muschamp is as proven as they come as a DC. I think it's evident he's a coaching upgrade, especially when you consider he coaches on the sidelines and not a booth. AU will be back to playing intense D.

I'm going to wait to see if he doesn't give up a bazillion passing yards to Alabama first considering how that Florida vs Alabama game went before I say it is a coaching upgrade.
On paper it is, but I always like to see actual reality results.

On the same token, a Saban/Smart D gave up a bazillion passing yards to Nick Marshall. Every team/coach has bad game plans time to time. His resume as a whole at DC is as solid as they come.

As an LSU fan, I am excited about the prospect of recruiting with Coach O and Steel helping out Frank Wilson now. Coach O's reputation speaks for itself and it seemed Haley finished more times than not when recruiting for the Dline. For recruiting purposes, Steel gets me the most excited. Chavis did virtually 0 recruiting and we were starting to suffer at the LB position because he was the position coach.

Nailed it. Auburn is going to recruit regardless. You need the best teachers and X and O guys.

I agree for the most part. Although I'm pretty excited to see how Orgeron develops our linemen. That was a question mark for Haley at times.
