Why they might finish higher: After losing 13 consecutive SEC games to start the Bret Bielema era (and 17 in a row overall), the Hogs finally turned the corner at the end of the past season. Arkansas upset then-No. 17 LSU and then-No. 8 Ole Miss by a combined score of 47-0 in November and then defeated Texas 31-7 in the AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl. The Hogs will carry a lot of momentum into next season, especially with star tailbacks Jonathan Williams and Alex Collins both expected back. Four starters are returning on the offensive line, along with quarterbackBrandon Allen, who threw 20 touchdowns and five interceptions in 2014.

Why they might finish lower: If Arkansas is going to improve its 2-6 2014 SEC record, it will have to earn it this coming season. The Razorbacks' schedule is again arduous, with road games at Tennessee, Alabama, Ole Miss and LSU. The Razorbacks will also have to replace two key defensive players: Flowers, their top pass rusher, and Spaight, their leading tackler.

I love Robb Smith but I'm a little apprehensive of our defense next year after losing the Bermuda triangle lol

Im a little worried about LB just because we dont know how much the young guys will improve, but im not worried about the DL. With Wise, Winston, Bell, Jackson, Johnson, Froholdt and Brown, there will be enough there to have a good DL. Its a lot of physical takent but also a good amount of experience returning.

This year was a better test than next year IMO. Before this year we knew we had Flowers and Philon that were good and that was it. Then a freshman CB held the best WR in the country to 22 yards and a LB that was a non factor last year led the SEC in tackles by more than 10.

Next year we know we have pretty much all of the best players in the back end leaving (Turner and Mitchel leaving is addition by subtraction IMO) and we return 2 starters on the DL with plenty of backups that played and we gain 2 freshmen that are both huge and both freaks.

Next year will be a test for sure but im way less worried than i was going into this year. There WILL be a new Martrell Spaight or Taiwan Johnson that comes out of nowhere and lights it up. Of that i have no doubt.

I put $20 on Josh Williams being a fine replacement for Spaight.

Go look at what we red shirted DL wise and ir will cheer you up.

Heck I had about forgot about Dwayne Eugene at lb too

Personally, I'm highest on Ramsey out of the three freshman LB's. I really liked what I saw out of him before he broke his mono.

Robb Smith hasn't had a top 20 defense every year he's been a DC for nothing

This. He made alot out of his limited PT. Remember seeing him blow up a couple wr screens in one game and was really pumped about his speed.

Yeah Spaight was a non factor last year and then led the SEC in tackles this year. Another linebacker will step up. Plus we still have Brooks Ellis for leadership.

I'm excited about our offense next season. With the additions of KJ and Jo Jo and with AC and JW back, we should have some weapons. I'd really like to see Peavey run the option with those guys. The kid runs a 4.5 40.
