Why are Arkansas fans currently so happy/optimistic with Bert?

Since he left Wisconsin:
Wisconsin:
2014: 11-3 (1st in West)
2013: 9-4 (2nd in West)
Arkansas:
2014: 7-6 (7th in the West)
2013: 3-9 (7th in the West)
He is 3-5 all time in bowl teams
Just trying to understand where all the optimism is coming from.
Is it because you beat LSU's worst football team in 7 years? Because he beat Texas during its worse season of the last decade?

Maybe it is a good sign when you leave a program in good shape
I would much rather have his former team look solid than be a complete dumpster fire when he left.

Arkansas started to click. That defense is stout and they have a deep backfield with the largest Oline in all of football. They are a vastly untalented version of LSU. Looks good for the future.

Do you even watch football Rick?

Because 7th place in a 7 team division is.... progress for them.

Someone doesn't watch much college football.

I watch enough. Sure they looked better at the end of the year, but 2013 was only a year removed from an 11 win season and a top 3 BCS ranking at one point.
I know the team looked better on the field, but as Bill Parcells says: You are what your record is. And for the second year in a row Arkansas was last in the SEC West.
ETA: Let's put it this way....Muschamp is leaving behind a pretty abysmal situation at UF, but do you think Florida fans are going to be pumping McElwains praises if he finishes last in the SEC East his first two years? No, they would look silly, just like you guys look right now.

They may have been the best team in the West at year's end.
