Alabama - What are you expecting from your offense in 2015?

There are a lot of apparent similarities between 2013-14 LSU and 2014-15 Alabama. Can't imagine Bama touches LSU for ineffectiveness, but what are your expectations?

And am I correct in thinking its no lock that Coker is the starter at QB?

They will be back to the ground and pound.

Is this one of those threads where bama fans give their opinion and LSU fans laugh and call us delusional? Those are always fun. I have no idea what to expect next season but I can almost assure you Bama won't lose 5 games.

I think next years offense could go in two different directions. 1) back to ground and pound or 2) Coker, Bateman, Barnett, etc could have such a good arm Nicknletd lane totally open up the play book.

Run the ball more next year. Online will definitely be better and we have a stable of backs. There is no Amarillo cooper and all receivers seem to be meh. I think is will be like bama offense of 2009. We won NC that year

Don't y'all also lose your Top 3 wideouts... didn't work so well for us.

Incoming Receivers train as blockers first, back to 2012 status. Biggest challenge will be LSU, again.

Will have
1 3 star receiver
5 4 star receivers
1 5 star receiver
. Rankings don't mean much but talent is there

Wasn't 2012 the best passing offense Saban has had?

Nah, had to be this year or last year. 2012 had balance, but was definitely better on the ground with Lacy and Yeldon.

I'll give you the answer you're looking for.

We will suck, we have no good players, Lane Kiffin is a horrible OC, and Alabama will lose at least 9 games.

Considering he played an extra game (SECCG) and still had less yards than 2013, I'll still say 2013 was better. Only marginally, though. Another great thing about the 2012 offense is that they did a phenomenal job winning the clock.

Not to be that dramatic but when Cooper wasn't making the plays your offense dropped off noticeably. How will it be without him and likely a QB to make the extra plays running?

You're right, actually. The Arkansas game definitely showed signs of growing pains, but I'm expecting Kiffin to be more comfortable in year 2 calling longer sequences mixing in a powerful run-game to set up the pass, rather than having Cooper's routes open up the middle of the field for either himself or someone else.

Fair enough.

It's the first time there's been any sort of inconsistency with returning skill players, so just wondering if you guys expect 2011 numbers (AJ's 1st year), JPW numbers, or just to keep humming along.

We lose the top Wrs, top RB, and QB but I think the QB situation is more promising than what LSU was facing this season. Nobody is expecting our TF QB to have to compete for PT. Coker, Cornwell, Morris, and Bateman will all compete for the starting job. Coker is the favorite, again, but he's actually been on campus long enough to have learned the system now.

Plenty of young WRs too. None of them will fill cooper's shoes but there is talent at that position. Cam Sims and Rob Foster are likely to start on the outside with Chris black or Ardarius Stewart in the slot.

Big question will be on the OL. We trade experience for talent but will need to replace an all american at LG. Bama is also replacing the RG and RT but everyone who isn't related to the outgoing starters will tell you we are excited about a change there. Bradley Bozeman and Grant Hill are likely replacements and they both gained significant experience this season.

Overall I'd expect a more run oriented approach next year and more vertical passing to take advantage of Coker's arm strength.
