The two teams did not play between 1908 and 1947... This was a great era in Alabama football and auburn was meh.
Alabama currently leads the all time series 43-35.

If the teams played every year from 1908 to 1947 bama would likely lead something like 73-45 in the all time series...

Alabama didn't even win their first conference championship until the mid 1920's and this was around the time that even a former bammer student trainer claims they first started their tradition of cheating, lying, and doing anything else it took to win

I'm saying bama would have been 30-10 over auburn in that 40 year period. In 1948, in the first game in 49 years, Alabama won 55-0

Not so fast my friend.

Auburn had numerous great teams under Mike Donohue (107-35-1) so I doubt you win every game. In fact he had a team that gave up zero points.

Interesting, and it might of made Auburn catching Bama unachievable, but with that being possible now. All that brings a certain excitement to the Iron Bowl rivalry. Gotta have two programs capable of beating each other here and there to have a real fight or the rivalry turns into 1990-2006 Florida -vs- Georgia. You want your rivalry to be Nationally important like FSU -vs- Miami of the 1990's. Plus, a team wants to actually gain something from beating their rival too. Not just getting a "Well, like always they beat them again". Especially with a playoff committee deciding so much moving forward. At any given seasons end, that bump from a decent win could be what propels either Bama or Auburn into the Playoffs. So believe it or not and this might hurt some to read this. Both Bama and Auburn help each other by being solid programs year and year out. It makes the Iron Bowl that much better too.

API had to go to state legislature. Their aim: tomake API football relivant again. Who knew that when this came about, pandora's box would be open like it was. Being the shify beggars before the legislative, they metamorphosed into a sports department that would stop at nothing to advance their programs. Even paying their players (Eric Ramsey).

Well let’s just say what most people think about the University of Alabama - Tuscaloosa branch. Its football pursuits justify its identity with an uneducated backward white population and a symbolic link to the Lost Cause they hold so dear. Football has stalled UAT’s transformation into a modern university with intellectual, aesthetic or humanistic concerns. UAT fans overestimate the “esteem” of being the last college football factory.

Also UAT’s misplaced priorities (gold-plated football fluff over economic substance) harm the state’s growth and development as the Crimson Tide football team is outlet for the lunatic fringe (Paul Finebaum, Jay Barker, Harvey Updyke, John Phillips, Brian Downing, the Sugar Bowl “lady” et al) and a venue for them to be recognized. The holy crusade of UAT football also acts as an impediment to social or economic progress. It is well known that when a university simply reflects the attitudes of its football fans..... It is no longer a university in the true meaning of the word.

History has shown that UAT fans defend the indefensible, deny the undeniable and are thus driven by extreme emotion into delusions and reckless actions. The abovementioned misfits are the predictable by-product of UAT football. The NCAA would actually do UAT a favor by handing down a 'Death Penalty' for its football team. It will be only then that its faculty, alumni and students will appreciate the scholarship and learning that mark a university with intellectual fiber and integrity. Indeed until that time “roll tide” is the mortifying apology for those without individual self-respect or dignity. And so it is…

Alabama was tired of getting their shite pushed in early on and stopped playing Auburn until Bama was good again.

When the series ended, Auburn was leading 7-5-1, which included playing in Tuscaloosa. Auburn won a national championship before Bama. If we made the assumption that this would have continued, Auburn would lead the series.

EDIT: it is not enough Bama claims bogus national championships, but now want victories for games not even played.
