Interesting the new perspective when you walk a mile in someone else's shoes

Now the police just need to paint themselves black

You assume you would have one. He made the decision to draw on an unarmed man. He initiated deadly force.

well if you're sending police out without a non lethal weapon then it is apparently police policy to kill unarmed people to solve a situation. if you don't see the ginormous flaws in that mentality i can't help you.

Was a short time ago tazers were under fire as tools because people were dying of heart attacks when tazed. Simple fact is that the activist realizes now how difficult it is when heatherns dont comply.

the rates for surviving being shot with a taser vs being shot with a gun are incomparable. also i remember when the batton or collapsable asp where common place... even pepper spray. what sort of hellacious arse beating did rodney king take and survive?

Again, he made the decision to draw on an unarmed man. He could have retreated, placed a vehicle between himself and the perp...it seems you want to defend his action of shooting an unarmed man when only seconds passed and a split decision had to be made.

Wait ... do you mean there are no black LEOs out there, who grew up black? In poor black neighborhoods? We're actually going to have to paint some?

it seems you suck at reading comprehension. i am absolutely not defending his decision to shoot an unarmed man, and in fact i went out of my to criticize the fact he walked up to mutual combat between 2 unarmed men with deadly force in his hand.

I must have misread when you implied he HAD to because it was a total bait piece and he had no other options at his disposal.

eta- You also said if you saw 2 unarmed men fighting. How did you determine the guy was unarmed? Do you also know the in the last scenario the guy had a knife?

This video showed how a untrained civilian would react in these situations not how trained officers would react. The scenerio where the two guys were fighting happens everyday. Most cops would go hand to hand in this situation if they didn't have other non lethal means like pepper spray and a tazer.

That's racist and offensive. I recommend you find some black friends. Then you'll become more attuned to racial sensitivity and not make such hurtful comments. For now your ignorance is staggering. It's 2015 man.

No they wouldn't, and you're an idiot.

Cops are taught martial arts as a last resort because it greatly evens the odds for the attacker. If a cop has a weapon you can be damn sure it is going to be the first line of defense in any hostile situation, whether the attacker is obviously armed or not.

Only ones that want to see their names on some fallen officer memorial.

The rest would and should do exactly what this civilian did.
