Who else has had more of their songs covered by big time bands?

It's probably between Bob Dylan and Dolly Parton.

Yea the only reason I didn't include it was because I was counting bands that were power bands of their time in a different way than Panic is. And that's not a knock on Panic at all.

Yea Dylan is another that came to mind too. Had a great mind for writing songs but I can't listen to too much of his stuff back to back due to the voice. Same thing with Neil Young. I need buffer songs in between.

ETA: Jeff has to be right with Dylan, there's a wiki page dedicated to it. Had no idea the list would be near that long.

Y'all listen to much Scofield?

Govt Mule and John Scofield tore it up at the Ryman last night. Have wanted to see Scofield for years but never had the chance until last night. Damn he can play some guitar. Playing with Warren Haynes brought out a little more rocking side of him too but still with his unique style.

Earlier Sco with Miles Davis

Sco and Jaco

I'm glad you mentioned Jaco.

He died at age 36.

Watching this instructional interview, he looks 55.

Heroin and Not-giving-a-frick will do that to a guy.

Crazy when you realize guys like Hendrix and Morrison were only 27 when they died. Garcia making it to his 50s is pretty amazing to me.

At 4:49 the dead hippie guitar player flips a switch on his guitar. Does he think his guitar doesn't sound good enough as is? He has to be a pretentious guitar snob and act like there is some kind of need to finger his guitar up and impress yankees?

It's the eco-friendly switch. Uses less electricity.

Die Antwoord is coming to town in a few weeks. I almost think the people watching would be gold. Not sure which would be more odd to attend, that or a Sphongle show.

Jefferson would approve of the diversity of the above link. Hell, it even has a guy with progeria (that always creeps me out).

Because it is some of the best stuff out there. That being such a short lived project is one of the most disappointing things in music history to me. Give them at least 5-10 years together as a group and who knows what would've come of that.

The Experience always seems like 2 guys put there to support Hendrix but the Band of Gypsies just seemed more natural, that Machine Gun at the Fillmore East is just haunting. Gives me chills.

there's plenty of better videos to shite on Phish with than that one

Like when Trey was near the peak of his oxy use. One of the most disappointing shows I've been to. Was more sad than anything.
