Along the same lines, back when the 'Occupy' movement was a thing there was an "Occupy Montgomery" scheduled also via Facebook.
I work downtown very near the capitol and I took a photo of the event.
Lady stood for at least an hour talking over a PA like she had a crowd of fellow protesters.

Wife drove by a few minutes ago and said they're staying out of the road and getting lots of honks in support. If I didn't have to drive all the way through the Summit or get on 280 I'd go check it out.

Not joking..the lawyer representing the group said they were taking a break and going up to the Chevron to potty and get snacks. That's hardcore protesting right there. They started walking up the road for some reason.

Headed up to St. Louis from Greystone and had to take 119 because of the protestors. BPD should have taken previous action.

Birmingham PD pledged beforehand that they wouldn't allow protestors to block traffic. Looks like the protestors called their bluff. A lot of people are going to be critical of the BPD for allowing this go on like it did. They had plenty of time to prepare and prevent it from affecting traffic.
