True Freshman All-American Team

Quite a few representatives from the SEC. I feel like Nick Chubb got royally snubbed but that's just my opinion.

Royce Freeman
Att Yds Avg TD Rec Yds TDs
230 1322 5.7 16 14 139 1

Nick Chubb
Att Yds Avg TD Rec Yds TDs
186 1281 6.89 12 18 213 2

Hard to say a guy who plays with a Heisman Trophy quarterback and averaged a full 1 ypc less than Nick Chubb deserves the award. Nothing against Freeman but his numbers aren't as good as Chubb IMO.

As for the rest

Cam Robinson Bama
Lorenzo Carter UGA
Myles Garrett A&M
Jamal Adams LSU
Derek Barnett UT
Marquis Haynes OM
Jashon Robertson UT

Great looking future for all of these guys.

I thought it was disrespectful to list him as "Turnstile."

I'm guessing the voters thought the Pac-12 was stronger than the Calcutta that was the SEC (l)East.

In 2 games versus the SEC West Nick Chubb favored quite well.

LINK

Keep in mind Nick Chubb was a backup for the first 5 games of the season otherwise this wouldn't even be a problem.

I'll forward your concerns onto the voters.

Jamal Adams will lead the country in unsportsmanlike conduct penalties drawn next year

Add JK Scott if they listed a punter.

Agree about Chubb. He played against stouter run defenses than you see in the slack 10 or Big 12 IMO. SEC is just loaded with great freshmen this year.

Not sure about this. He may have, but I dont think it is a no brainer this year

Agreed, I think the biggest difference is Chubb did most of his work with Huston Mason as our starting QB. Nothing against Hutson but everyone stacked the box versus us knowing that we had to run the football to be successful. We didn't have a superstar QB that people had to prepare for.

Also, Perine got a shite ton of his yards versus garbage teams. I mean he ran for 400 versus Kansas. We benched Chubb in our meaningless game late in the season that we won easily.

Chubbs defenses were horrendous against the rush:

SEC teams faced by Chubb rush defense rankings:

12, 22, 30, 46, 67, 86, 90 ,107

Royce Freeman defense rankings:

6, 11, 21, 40, 43, 52, 54, 55

I thought Jashon Robertson struggled a bit tbh. But, what do I know. Apparently not a lot.

Derek Barnett absolutely.

Chubb deserved to be on that list.

DB: Jamal Adams, LSU
Adams first gained national attention with comical, soccer-style flops against Florida and Ole Miss, but the kid also has game. He played more and more late in the season, and it looks like he'll become LSU's next great safety.

There really isn't a good reason to hedge this bet. If he remains healthy, Adams will become LSU's next great safety.
