It is. A proper noun...unless you meant the common noun and the. It would depend on where in France you were. In some areas of eastern France German is more common. The same is true along the Franco Italian border where both Italian and German is as common as French. And German and Dutch is prevalent along the Benelux area where some people consider French an insult. There is not so much of this along the French Spanish border where fRench is pretty common on both sides.

If you are in Paris Sprite would be called something along the lines of "frick you and your Blanca champagne Americana...."
