Charlie Strong has an ax to grind. This is his Super Bowl. Texas will show up ready to play.

I feel the opposite. I think the Longhorns really wanted A&M, not us. Our seniors are much more hungry.

Agree, though I'm a bit more concerned about the game now than I was when it was a hypothetical matchup. We're similar in terms of style of play, and they've played very well down the stretch just like we did, though you have to take it with a grain of salt because they're playing in a weaksauce conference and got destroyed in the last week of the season. One thing that gives me confidence is that their 6 wins are sort of a mirage, because they got absolutely obliterated every time they faced a good team with the exception of Oklahoma and UCLA (who was playing with their backup), while we were grinding out close losses and shutout wins.

But, like you said, our seniors are hungry, and Texas hasn't seen a fraction of the shite our upperclassmen have had to go through. Heck, their group of 4th year seniors have never won fewer than 8 games in a season before this year.

No doubt about it. I don't ever underestimate TX; hate 'em, but don't take them for granted. And Strong is a good coach, so I definitely don't doubt his ability to have them prepared, but unless something catastrophic happens like our making lots of mistakes (penalties, turnovers) or not taking them seriously, which I know will not happen (praying), we should be ok. I think we'll end up wearing them down and pulling away by a decent margin if we stick to our kind of play. Hopefully, Bielema explains this in depth & with much emphasis to Chaney. ... I think our defense, especially with Flowers & Spaight leading the way, will be great. No question this is a huge game for them. Just glad they get to go out with a bowl like this against Texas.

Some Longhorn player responded to him yesterday with a little shite talking himself. Can't remember what he said, though.

I would feel the same except we've shown up ready to play every game, even when I thought they'd give up. I think we'll be ready as well and just looking at stats, we should smoke their asses.

Of course, with the Chaney/Allen duo you can throw all stats out the window.

Not real worried though...pretty excited. The Liberty Bowl with WVU would have worried me more.

I can't wait, I think our style of play will be a real problem for them and with a month to rest Allen should be fully healthy. We lose though if Chanay's dumbass abandons the run in the second half after a bunch of no gain short side sweeps in the first.

He felt Bert's hunger up close. He knows his team is on the menu.

I think we win pulling away... if Chaney gets lost on the way to the stadium.

Now, that having been said, I think Charlie Strong is in similar situation to what BB stepped in, just with a bit more talent. It isn't just a question of rebuilding the team with your recruits but changing the mindset of the entire program. It will take some time but I expect Texas to be very dangerous in a few years.

I have a deep rooted hatred of the Longhorns but I've always liked Charlie Strong. Guess I'll just have to hate on him and hope he gets fired and goes somewhere else.

Yeah, I'm used to rooting against Mack Brown and his oily douchebagginess. I hated that Strong took that job because he seems like a very decent guy.

That said, frick Texas.
