I wanted more but considering the strength of the division this year, to come out as #3 was a success. I would have to say that I am happy with this season. It gives us something to build on. We just need to get a slinger.

The way we lost the 3 games sucks but any of us would've taken 9-3 before the season started. So yeah, I guess.

I view it like this, if at the beginning of the year you said we would finish 9-3 with victories over Bama and State, most fans would be happy with that. However, as the season progresses and expectations change, that record doesn't seem as satisfying because of the 'what-ifs' throughout the season.

What-if Treadwell doesn't fumble going into the end-zone, or we take the field goal at the end of the LSU game.

I am satisfied because there has been steady improvement throughout Freeze's tenure and we have shown we can compete with any team in the conference.

Yes. We were very close to 10-2 or better but that's hard to expect w/ the oline and injuries we had.

Yes even though the LSU and Auburn games were heart breaking. I'm just worried we are going to have all these weapons next year and no quarterback to use them. I'm nervous but, excited who will be the next quarterback for Ole Miss. Hugh Freeze did allot more with Bo than any other coach could have. Look at what Bo looked like out of high school. LINK Bo didn't even have a picture in his profile coming out of high school. Can anyone think of a quarterback rated as low as Bo was, who had as much success?

I am extremely happy. Beat two Top 5 teams who happen to be Bama and State. Only thing I really hate is the loss to LSU but oh well.

After the way the team bounced back after Arky I can't complain. I feel like that game was a combination of injuries and emotional letdown after Treadwell got hurt. I wish they had handled it better, but they're young.

Outside of Bo, Quez and Prewitt, our best players were sophomores. A tight group of sophomores that lost one of their own to a bad injury. They had to grow up and move past it. It may have taken a week longer than I'd hoped, but they're better to it now.

The entire team now knows what it's like to be in the title picture and what can happen to derail it just that fast. Hopefully they remember that next season because if we just get decent QB play we'll be contending again.

Whoever is QB next year doesn't have to be as good as "good Bo", just more consistent. I feel like our OL will be stronger in the run game and I'm thinking Hugh knew that and that's why he RS Judd. A senior Walton and a big, bruising back like Judd will hopefully take some of the pressure off a new QB.

All in all I'm happy. We had the talent this year, but we just ran short of the luck you need to win a championship.

Figure this is as good a place as any -

Wilkins out rushed Mathers this season.

I really hope he learns to pass block.

Don't matter. Swinney is about to run away with the job.

...another 190 lb scat back?

...frick.

For real he's gonna be good but I expect Wilkins or Judd to shoulder the load moving forward.

Swinney is 190lbs. now coming out of high school. Let him get in a college weight room for a summer. I expect him to be running around 195-200 next year and the next closer to 215 maybe 220, giving him some bruiser ability while hopefully keeping his speed.

ETA: I'm very happy with this year, granted it could have been a lot better save a freak injury and a ridiculous delay of game against LSU taking us out of field goal range. But we got the Bama monkey off of our back and we ruined Schtates shot at the playoff in one of the funnest games I had the pleasure of attending. It's a building block. We should improve everywhere with a ? at QB next year. If we can get someone who can manage this offense and take the plays we're given we should be contenders next year as well. Hotty Toddy fellas it was a great season and a wild ride. Let's do it again next year and maybe the ball will bounce our way a little more.

Swinney's bio has been updated in forever. He looks closer to 200 now than in his junior year when he weighed at 187 or whatever. Looks like he lost a step but I'll take it since he gained some strength and power.

I'm with the sheep on this one: if at the beginning of the year you gave me 9-3 with a top five wins over State and Alabama, I would say "lulz State in the top five? Plz. But I'll take it."

But if you told me that LSU would finish 8-4 with losses to every team in the division but us and A&M, I would be pissed. Same with the fact that Auburn finished 8-4 and one of their wins was a road one vs. us. Compile those with a 6-6 Arkansas team beating the shite out of us and I would be full-blown catatonic.

I just can't help but think if Lewis caught that sure-pick-six against LSU on the first play of the fourth, or if Senquez housed that ball he tipped to Coates in the Auburn game. Or if Laquon's leg gets massacred six inches up the field and we go up on Auburn. I think our prevent D would have held them.

But, I'll take 9-3 if we can win our damn bowl game (which better not be the Gator or Music City). Orange Bowl reps were in town to watch both teams in the Egg Bowl per David. After this weekend, we'll move up to 9 or 10 in the playoff rankings and be eligible for one of those big-time bowls. If the Orange Bowl chooses us over State, lulz for dayz.

I'm happy about everything this season other than the Arkansas game, and Bo's INT vs LSU.. ruining our chances at a feild goal. Other than that it was a great season, and I'm proud to be a rebel

This Xs a number with too many zeros to fit in my screen.

We beat State AND Bama. Those 2 teams have 3 losses combined and we were 2 of them and Bama was States other loss. Also we finally hosted Gameday and put on a fricking show. Then to add in how hot recruiting is going.

Yes parts of the season sucked. But to bounce back and ruin States season after how bad that Arky game was shows wonders to me. And NO ONE can doubt where our program is going. We win our bowl game and we come into the season next year Top 15 or with a chance to be Top 10.

If people can't be happy with this season then I fear for our fan base. Because as much as it sucks we aren't an Alabama that expect 11 wins every year. We aren't there yet.

How could a Rebel not be thrilled with this season?

The only team to beat Alabama, and got the Bama monkey off your back. Beat the best State team in recent memory and soundly. Finish 9-3 in a clear step up season. Rarely do programs just explode on the scene and win it all. It's a process. Ole Miss did very well on that road this year.

The three losses really sting now that things have played out, but there was only one bad loss on the schedule. The LSU game has to really hurt as LSU just isn't that good and you had all the chances you could ask for to win the game. You're not the first team to get burned in a night game at Tiger Stadium and won't be the last. Intercept one pass and house it, and you win that game. That was the loudest game I've seen in Tiger Stadium, and I've been to quite a few big games there. Maybe not as electric as Bama 12, but the sound was consistently there all game. The Auburn game was a great battle against the best offense in the SEC. The ending was the most heartbreaking finish I can remember to a football game. Treadwell doesn't break an ankle and you probably come out of there with a win in a primetime match up with then Top 5 teams. Ole Miss came to fight after another heartbreaker in Baton Rouge. That alone should tell you where Freeze has this program headed.

Yes, Arkansas was terrible. You caught an Arkansas team much better than their record suggested and had the worst 1st quarter of the year. Down 17-0 before anyone gets settled in and having your senior QB get hurt is not the recipe for success. Those games happen in the SEC. You'd have liked to play better clearly, but after that performance Ole Miss teams in the past would have faltered and came out flat against a very good Mississippi State team. Instead, once again the team responds positively to adversity and plays arguably their best game of the season.

With all that will be coming back next year, I'd be over the moon if I'm a Rebel. Hell I am and Ole Miss is my second team (remembering fondly my year and a half in Oxford). I've enjoyed watching the progress under Freeze and hope you guys won't get too impatient with Freeze. The program has energy that I cannot remember in my 20 years actually paying attention to college football. I expect more good in the future for the Rebels.

I'm not thrilled with it but I'll take it over years passed. Overall I'm pleased. The "what-ifs" are the biggest knock.
