This is a disturbing trend from a Mizzou fan's perspective that has continued even with Mizzou's recent success. Begs two questions:

How is Mizzou doing what it is doing?

AND what would Pinkel do with the talent of say Georgia if he could recruit that well?

Pinkel is an excellent coach. That is a fact.

To be honest and not being an a-hole here but until you can upgrade your facilities to be on par with the upper echelon of the conference I think you will continue to struggle. Your coaching staff does a great job with the talent you have but to get the studs you have to woo these kids these days.

They are upgrading their facilities but you might be right, they may need to upgrade more.

I don't think they have to be in the top ten to compete, but I do think they need to start getting in the top 20 if they won't to maintain this success.

Pinkel has been excellent at getting players who might not be highly ranked but fit the exact need he has. He also coaches up his players very well and a well coached two star playing in the right system can play as well as a 4-5 star who is lost in the shuffle at a bigger school.

I agree that is what is happening, however over the long run I do not believe any coach can consistently turn out 10 win teams unless they at least have top 20 recruited talent. At some point the law of averages will catch up.

Look Saban is a great coach, probably the best in the country, but if he didn't continually refill Alabama's roster with 4-5 star players there is no way Bama could keep winning like it has been.

So if you lose the SECCG does that make your argument invalid?

Training and practice facilities are top notch it is the stadium that needs help.

They got lucky to get the SEC West bottom feeders on their schedule at the same time the SEC East was down.

It's probably just as simple as when a recruit from Fla. or Ga. land in that shithole of Missouri......they can't wait to get back on the plane out of there.
I'm not melting or trolling, I had the displeasure of living there. Honestly it's one of the worst places i've ever been.

This is Alabama's new $9 million dollar weight room. My mother took the tour and said it was jaw dropping the resources these players have at their disposal.

Recruiting rankings are based on hype not talent

Lets leave your mom out of this.
Missouri is not a desirable place to live. You can't honestly expect recruits from Fla,Ga or Cal. to want to go to college in Missouri. The truth is sometimes painful, but it's a fact no one outside of Missouri wants to live in Missouri.

To the Florida fan, not sure if you are aware of this but Columbia, MO recently got voted one of the best places to live in the country. I am not from there, only go to games, but I have lived all over the country and I don't see your comments as being valid.

Why does a UCLA fan keep posting on this site, maybe he/she is not aware his program just got toasted by a mediocre Stanford team.

I keep forgetting y'all have Meth Head Corky running the S&C program. He's very good at his job, obviously, but he's still kinda Meth Head Corky-ish.

It's strictly my opinion. If you like living there great. But I think most would agree with me.
