The reality is that we don't have the players. We still have kids that were on the team two years ago who couldn't win a sec game

The defense gave up 31 or more points in 6/8 SEC games. Let that sink in.

Agree. I will say this Malzahn needs to get this corrected or it will certainly effect his future at Auburn. I like Malzahn and I would hate to see that happen.

Even no talent pussies can be taught fundamentals and be serviceable. Our best players on defense are the young guys, cause these coaches haven't had time to frick them up yet.

D staff should be gone. Players didn't improve, horrible technique. Plus, need better recruiting on that side of the ball.

Again, to be elite you are right. But there is no excuse to be as inept as we have been this season.
If you blame the players then how bad is it going to be in a couple of years once Ellis gets "his guys" in? Our defensive recruiting is going pretty terribly right now.
Add in the fact we have regressed defensively over the course of the year and it's hard to make a case for this defensive staff.

It can happen, but it's not happening. We are getting worse. We don't look prepared. Our coverages get players lost. We constantly shoot ourselves in the foot with bonehead penalties.

The one point that I keep thinking and probably the most important truth is....is there any way in hell that this defensive staff can go toe to toe recruiting defensive players against nick saban?
