I think everyone knows the hatred between these two schools, and it's often been said that if this game was to determine the West or have any real significance, it would be a blood bath in MS. We've only dreamed of an Egg Bowl that held any real significance, and thanks to Ole Miss, we can only still dream about it. Thanks for fricking it all up. You bears could mess up a wet dream. Literally.

I was more so hoping yall could carry your own weight in this rivalry. I guess I am a pretty stupid State fan. One can wish though.

You'd better wish for 18 more in a row to make the "rivalry" even

It will matter.

Watch MSU score - that matters every time we cross the goal line.

Watch D shut them down. Every UM 3 and out punt matters.

Watch Bo fumble. every fumble maters

Watch Bo throw to MSU for an interception. every one matters

Watch Bo leave the Game. That will matter.

Watch the UM alumni leave the game at end of second QTR. That will matter.

Watch MSU team sing to the faithful at end of game. That will matter

Watch Egg bowl trophy circle the field in MSU players hands. That will matter.

Watch MSU stay in top 4 for NC runoff. That will matter.

Watch UM guys throw up on their dates. Oh - I guess that wont matter much.

I guess that's all I got that matters.

HailState!

Yep. This game holds no significance whatsoever.

The "rivalry" has been even since integration. You know, that little law that allowed them black folks to play football. Sure, Ole Miss ruled during the plantation days, but those days are long forgotten.

So those games before don't count? Is this like if the NCAA didn't force you to forfeit all those games you wouldn't have an all time losing record? Because those things happened and you can't get rid of them.

They didn't play football in the 1860s in the south. You're welcome

It was a funny with a double meaning. You know, Ole Miss ruled both plantation era's, the Antebellum era and Segregation era.

Is it a secret double meaning that you made up yourself? Your own inside jokes must crack you up all the time

It does for uS. I guess it does make y'all's super bowl a little bigger considering you can keep big bro from the playoffs and possibly the SECC, but outside of that, the only significance this game holds for you is whether you'll be bowling in Nashville or Jacksonville.

It gets old once you've been there twice already. New Orleans for New Years is more my fancy though.

Mississippi State's first black player played his first game in 1970. Ole Miss in 1972.

ETA: The record before that was 35-25 OM; not that far off.

This game will determine if State is 5th or 6th in the Playoff standing so yes it is significant.

Egg Bowl would still mean something if MSU had not lost to Bama

Silly Bulldog,

Every Egg Bowl matters when you trail the series 61-43-6.
