Very similar to Ron Zook imo. Yes, he is a very good recruiter and has assembled and is assembling a lot of young talent, but he is a very poor gameday coach.

It has been obvious throughout his entire tenure. Coaches as bad as him do not win anything of note. The question becomes how long do you keep him? In 2 years is the talent good enough for a competent Xs and Os coach to come in and succeed?

Vol fans love him because he is a good marketer, but anyone willing to take the blinders off will admit he is very subpar on Saturdays.

He's better than Dooley at least. You guys better keep him.

Tennessee is the Michigan of the south.

Yeah, it's been a long time since I've seen a coach so totally derp up the end of a game.

Same spiel as always. We get it - you hate all UT coaches.

Xs and Os, game management, he is bad at all of it.

Very rarely do I think during a game, "Man, I'm glad Butch is our coach."

That fake FG was a nice call, but outside of that you have to think back to last year's UGA game for a time I was impressed by him. Looks way overmatched by SEC coaches.

Don't jump ship just yet. The guy deserves a fair shake with a few years of his own guys. Talk to me again after 2016.

He deserves that much.

1-3 in SEC home games Tennessee was favored in. Unacceptable imo.

For the Vol fans who think he can coach, what has he done that has impressed you?

I could honestly write 95 percent of his posts for him without having to even think for 2 seconds. That's bad - real bad.

Of course you do, you wanted rid of the other guy and Tyndall has the added bonus of not having coached long. Seriously, 30 chill and give our coaches a chance. You'd be happier, imo.

Tyndall was one of the coaches I wanted all year last year. I have watched him win enough to have a lot of faith in him moving forward. Big fan of coaches who use a zone in CBB.

Am I concerned about his recruiting? Yes, but I believe the investigation is to blame there.

Hopefully he can hang on.

Way too early to beat up on Jones. Do you realize how difficult it is to rebuild after a coach has run the program down? Ask Nebraska, Miami, Penn State, Michigan, Colorado and Arkansas to name a few.

Jones believes in his plan. He is passionate about UT. Most of all, he doesn't see UT as a springboard to another job. Learn from the Kiffin fiasco, be thankful you have Butch.

I do not believe this for a second. I believe he would take the Michigan job in a heartbeat.
