I don't even think it is LSU's biggest rivalry.

Laughable. It's Auburn.

I do think Alabama/LSU is a bona fide rivalry now though.

In the past 5 years yea sure. But the Iron Bowl was bigger last year and this year.

If they meant the game that on average has more at stake than any regular season game in college football lately, then I agree.

Their argument was that Auburn has had some down years since 2008, and during those down years Bama throttled AU

SVP experienced it first hand recently so he's a little smitten by it.

So they arent actually talking about rivalries, but are talking about matchups that have decided the SEC more lately.

Yeah, I kind of misread the OP. I thought they were trying to make claim that LSU is Alabama's biggest rival, which just isn't true. Auburn will always be the answer to that question, unless Auburn completely fell off for many years (which won't happen).

Alabama/LSU has been the most important games on average for those two teams lately so I see where they are coming from.

Yeah the last one in BR was one hell of an "event" even though we came out on the short end.

UF-UT "rivalry" game used to decide SEC champion/National champion too. Now it's played at Noon on Home Shopping Network.

It's not the rivalry with the most history or the most hate between the fan bases. It is certainly the most nationally relevant rivalry over the past 5 years or ok, which is what they were saying.
