I know this is an offseason thread, but I just pre ordered the mini helmet of the throw backs so I was wanting to get the ark's thoughts.

Really wasn't a fan of the throwbacks this past week. But I feel bad for saying that since it took them 6 hours to make each one

I wish they'd come out with a Matte Black or matte dark gray. That ought to piss off the uniform traditionalists

The black helmets worn at MSU '12 are fantastic. Love 'em. I said at the time I'd like that to be our go-to away game helmet. I like the throwback '39 helmets, too, but we'll likely not see those again until 2039. Those are the only ones presented that would get a thumbs up from the old fart.

I would be all in on wearing the Texas silloute on our helmets for away games. It woul be awesome strolling into the state of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama with a big footprint of our state on the helmets. Slap it on the maroon and white helmet for away games.

Yessir! Away fans would think it was ostentatious (and they'd be right). Fans in Texas would sit up and take notice: "Hey... that's Texas. I'm from Texas. Cool."
