...in an effort to catch him up in the Heisman discussion? I'm thinking about this because it was clear earlier in the season that CMR went from not really promoting his star player to suddenly proclaiming him the best player in America once it seemed he had a legit shot at the trophy. Having missed two games, Gurley has some ground to make up and needs to have some HUGE performances in the coming weeks. Based on that, I'm thinking we start seeing about 30 carries a game and more red zone snaps.

I'm hoping, anyway.

They will not change their scheme just to get him more Heisman votes. But he will definitely get more carries than he did the past 2 weeks

i dont see CMR giving him more touches intentionally to pad stats...Gurley is not bigger than the team or this seasons goals as we have seen already...if I were CMR I would give him his touches but also ensure he stays healthy by subbing Chubb in and ROWK...that way we have the stable for the long haul...we gonna need em all...

I think, and hope, that CMR plays Gurley to win games, not to win the Heisman. This could mean putting Chubb in there because:

1) Gurley needs to catch his breath
2) We have a large lead
3) Gurley is struggling

Early on in the season when Gurley started getting more carries was when Michel and Marshall were having issues and Chubb had not yet entered the spotlight. CMR thought Gurley was all we had, so he got the rock on almost every play. Now that he knows Chubb can carry the load too, I see him taking a lot of snaps from Gurley.

I think we'll only see Chubb when Gurley needs a breather.

You still think Gurley's on the field if we're up 3 TDs to UK/Charleston S./GT in the 4th?

I don't foresee #3 in my scenario ever happening but had to include it because it is a legitimate reason for Chubb to be on and Gurley not.

maybe he can have 10 carries against Charleston Southern. That should be over 100 yards.

I'm really getting more at not subbing Gurley out every time we get in the red zone. We've had a habit of letting him get us down the field, then taking him out as we enter TD territory. I'd like to see a lot less of that.

if it'll help your argument then I see your point with Charleston....UK and GT no,you'll see a heavy dose of TG 2 in those two games

I don't see Richt altering the game plan to bump TG2's chances at the Heisman either - but you have to wonder about the call for him to pass out of the Wild Dog. That seemed very uncharacteristic of Richt and the first thing the media said was "you'll see that play over and over when he wins the Heisman". So you never know ...

Since we have gone to full reliance on the Chubbdozer I have loved our offensive mindset. Run the ball 2-3x more than we pass. Run the clock. Wear down the defense. Allow Mason to throw only 15-20 passes on PA and that little bubble screen that we love. I love that for this team.

Since we have begun doing that I have been hoping 1) obviously that we get Gurley back and 2) we do the same damn thing with Gurley. Early on we were giving all our backs the ball with Gurley getting more. What I'd like to see is what we did with Chubb with Gurley instead...to a degree. I wanna Georgia hand it to Gurley more than 15x. Yea, we want to keep him fresh, yadda yadda yadda, but I have always bought in to the "RBs get better sometimes later in the game even if they are a little tired" mantra. I don't wanna wear him down but I'd like to see him get 22 carries at minimium.

Don't take too much from Chubb but I want Gurley to be the work horse. Chubb is a great back but Gurley is a threat every time he touches the ball. The more he touches it the better he'll do. I just want him to get Chubb-like carries and see what happens. Especially against UF. I wanna throw as little as possible that game. Heisman is nice and I want Gurley in NY for UGA and him but I want Georgia to win more than that and I think we will if we feed him more.
