Hoops Dawgs picked 5th in SEC preseason..

behind UK, Florida, Arky, and LSU. Not bad. Think after the top 2 you could make the argument for any of the next 3. High hopes for this team, looking forward to watching them. They have a great schedule this year too.
and Charles Mann voted to the preseason 2nd team all SEC and rightfully so. the other 4 guys on that 2nd team are all from UK.

Dawgs finished 3rd last year... 5th seems about right

i think we will be right around 3rd-6th. probably on the outside of the bubble as the season starts. good place to be for our program. every game is meaningful. we dropped games to BAD teams early last year and it cost us a tourney bid.

How is LSU ahead of us? I thought they lost everybody.

yeah they lost hickey, stringer, and JOB. all 3 were key guys, but jordan mickey returns and is an absolute stud. jarrel martin was a really good freshman as well last year so they have those 2 along with a 7 footer and point guard coming in that should contribute. i dunno what there is outside of that, but that's probably enough to be 4th, honestly.

You could easily argue we should be ahead of LSU. They do have a lot of talent but they did last year too and we beat them at their place.
and ya we finished tied for 2nd last year which gave us a lot more respect in the poll. Last year we were preseason #11, good jump there.
