Everyone thinks Ole Miss is gonna destroy LSU. I understand that the Ole Miss defense is probably the best in the country and LSU's offense is pretty bad but will Ole Miss be able to move the football? The LSU defense has improved since MSU and Auburn and Ole Miss's offense is not as good as Auburn's or MSU's. Bo Wallace struggles at times and the rebels offense struggles at times. I still think Ole Miss gets the win but if LSU can run the football than LSU will win.
My Prediction: Ole Miss 24 LSU 13

when our defense has the strong possibility to outscore your offense....does our defense really need to be all that great?

for the ole miss fans traveling on I10/12 make sure you do no speed. I counted at least 18 cops on my recent trip from Alabama to Houston on the return trip. Over half are near construction sites. You are warned and Geaux Tigers

There are a couple of reasons for LSU to be optimistic, really, aside from just home field Tiger Stadium at night.

1. Ole Miss is better at defending the pass than the run. They actually rank below Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, and Mississippi State in run defense against teams in the FBS with winning records this year. LSU is obviously not going to be throwing it around a lot in this game, but there is reason to believe they will move the ball some against Ole Miss on the ground.
See here

2. LSU defends the pass very well. They are actually 18th overall nationally against FBS teams with winning records, best in the SEC. Ole Miss's offense is heavily reliant on the pass. In games against winning FBS teams, they are averaging 289 through the air and only 130 on the ground.

3. Ole Miss has done a lot of scoring off turnovers this year, but 75% of those turnovers were interceptions. If LSU can establish the run game, they stand a much better chance of not giving away points than a team like, say, Texas A&M (who outgained the Rebels, but gave the ball away too much to even stay in the game).
See here

That's all I got for you, Tigers. Your QB is going to have to hit something in the play action game or there will be 9 landsharks in the box swarming your RBs before they hit the LOS all night, and none of this means anything. LSU matches up much, much better against Ole Miss than they did either MSU or Auburn, though.

You could add:

4. LSU has a better FG kicker.

If we had beat Kentucky and Florida before getting crushed by Miss State and Auburn the spread would be Ole Miss minus 6 and people would still be piling money on the rebels while LSU fans would be contemplating how many consecutive losses we could possibly have. Jennings is still our qb and our offense stills runs the ball more than anyone in the country not named Air Force or Navy. But we won two games in a row Ole Miss has no shot we are sooooo good at football now

We've had multiple forced fumbles that we didn't get. Hell you're an Alabama fan you should know this. Ward was holding the ball and they were signaling Bama ball. Thankfully the ball don't lie.

I definitely thought that was a fumble that should have gone to Ole Miss in the Alabama game, DMagic. I wasn't saying Ole Miss is bad at forcing fumbles, I'm just saying that they are incredibly good at forcing interceptions. That is a better bet for LSU than it was for Texas A&M, as they probably won't throw it all that much.

Congrats on your FG kicker being better.. The kickers are a push cause our guy will be a Ray Guy Finalist as well... Now, let's talk other positions

DT: Robert > Any DT you got
DE: CJ Johnson > Any DE you got
QB: Bo Wallace > Your 2 Boy Scouts
WR: Quon > Any WR you have
CB: Yall are deeper but we don't drop picks
Safety: Adams has a Cody Prewitt poster hanging above his bed
LBs: you actually start Welter some games
RB: Fournette > anyone we have
FB: we don't use one so you're better there

Just look at it objectively ... You are literally trying to talk about the advantages you have in the kicking game when OM has been solid in the kicking game all year.. We don't have a bunch of PR yards but we've played against multiple Ray Guy candidates and people forget that.

It all adds up to us laying the law down on your shitty arse football team

In all honesty that's pretty much how I see the game going. We will have trouble moving the ball in a tough environment against a good pass D, but I just don't see how LSU is going to be able to score barring is turning the ball over in our own redzone.

That's the only way alabama was able to score on us

You are referring to the scoop and score... otherwise it probably wouldn't have mattered if Ole Miss did turn it over in the red zone, because they seem to be most dominant there.

Alabama did not start a single drive in Ole Miss territory in that game. Their lone touchdown drive of the game started at the Alabama 32. They had 4 more drives that ended in field goal range. Ole Miss's red zone defense is so good that Alabama came away with 10 points in those 5 trips. That defense is nasty in general, but especially in the red zone.
