Glad you at least kind of agree. It's just JAX man. And, shite, UF is a dumpster fire of epic proportions but if they just have ONE game where Driskel or Harris doesn't turn it over for once they're lethal. Just like 2012 UGA/UF. One of our best offenses and UF completely stopped it outside of the first drive and a great Malcom Mitchell play.

IMO UF is still plenty dangerous and losable. Especially considering this is basically their last shot. And UGA losing to a UF this bad is such a UGA thing to do.

Our team is unfortunately notorious for falling short on that stage

I don't really buy that.

02- dominated
03- lost to the better team, who won teh national title
05- dominated
11- lost to the better team, who played for the national title (and was arguably their best team in school history)
12- lost to a comparable team, who won the national title

If you say falling short simply as saying we lost, ok yeah I'm with you. But it's not like an 01 UT/LSU where we've been upset. Every time we've lost it's been to a better team who ended up playing for the national title.

as of now, I would Chubb up against any RB from that team.

I love chubb, but cmon. He's started 2 games. Knowshon left UGA as a top 3 or 4 back in school history. By the time both careers are over? Who knows..chubb could end up being better. But comparing 2 years to 2 games...nah it's knowshon.

It looks like UF is going to start Treon Harris. That makes them more dangerous in that he has given them a spark at times, but they still will really struggle in the passing game.

I really wish JD was playing because he sucks, but I'll never complain about facing a true freshman in jax. That kid's head is gonna be spinning.

02- dominated
- Indeed, but should be expected given the competition

03- lost to the better team, who won teh national title
- Lost big against a good, but not great LSU team. We had one of our best QBs in UGA history at the helm.

05- dominated
-

11- lost to the better team, who played for the national title (and was arguably their best team in school history)
- LSU was a great team, but we never stood a chance and laid down quickly for the beating. I was at the game and it was ugly. Damn honey-badger.

12- lost to a comparable team, who won the national title
- Put up a good fight here. Could have easily won, it just didn't fall our way.

Anyways, of those 5 games, I say we showed up in 3 of 5. Not as bad as it seems but I prefer to at least show up in all games. '11 has left a bad taste in my mouth that I can't get rid of.

So many thoughts on this. When talking to a FSU fan yesterday, he sees UGA as the best team in the SEC and couldn't believe I wasn't 100% positive just yet. Told him, as a Georgia fan I'm cautiously optimistic. I've sat in this deer stand before only to never see the prize step out.

Offense:
The O line is a damn beast. They need more recognition. The return of Mitchell and JSW is already paying dividends for the other WRs. And as I said before, Mitchell when he gets his mojo going places a +1 in the W for UGA. He has put the nail in UFs coffin twice. IF Gurley comes back (and this is no knock on Chubb b/c I think he could/is a feature back) then my confidence is going to go sky high.

Defense:
There are a lot of similar shades to FSUs defense last year under Pruitt. The defense is now 'clicking'. The ultimate test will be when there are no turnovers by the other team.

SEC
UF worries me. I think we'll get their best shot as a last ditch effort for Muschamp to save his job. Having Pruitt helps with Auburn b/c he has seen it before. And lets face it... last year they won by luck/miracle whatever you want to call it. GT is a concern b/c of injury. I'd hate to lose anyone on the D Line right now a week before the SECCG if we make it.

As a side note; Auburn is about to go on a schedule of SC at home, @ Ole Miss, TA&M at home then @ UGA. They may drop a game or two before arriving in Athens.

The one thing that gets me VERY excited? I know that if we win out and the SECCG... we're in the PLAYOFFS FOR A NATIONAL TITLE.

My overall view of our team has changed somewhat. Our defense, particularly the Secondary, and our OL are playing better than I expected. However, I projected 3 losses and that is still quite possible including Auburn and the SECCG in the loss column. The wild card is Mason and our returning receivers. If Mason can play like he did vs Arkansas, against Auburn and in the SECCG and if Mitchell and JSW become more of a factor, I can see this team exceeding my wildest dreams.

Yea I'm optimistic about this team and think we can play with anyone in the country when we have Gurley back. But we are Georgia I'm just waiting for some BS to happen to us and it all falls down. I'm enjoying watching this team play and grow but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Have there been any updates on Michel and Marshall? I'd feel just as good if Michel was able to come back for UF to give us extra depth and playmaking ability.

I'm not doing a good job of managing expectations at all. As many times as UGA breaks my heart you think I'd learn. But I like this team...however I am waiting for the other shoe to drop. Such is life as a Dawg fan.

im really not. if i had any money, i would be spending it on SEC championship game tickets. that's a LOCK.

i dont think we make the playoff at this point, but we definitely have a chance. so i guess that's how i am tempering them.

im just enjoying the ride...it truly is great to be a bulldog sometimes...now is one of them..

.....my biggest hope for this season...and it may seem small and simple when compared to titles...is for us to completely and utterly undo Florida...i want us to play them lke we have played the last two weeks, hopefully with Gurley back...we could lose to Auburn and I would be ok as long as we frick Florida up..

i mean total humiliation for their team and fans...like a double digit lead at the end...we have had it coming for a long time...and they have surely beat on us when we were down...retribution and pay back is a bitch UF...

UF and UK worry the hell out of me.

I just hope we don't give the Gators any momentum to start the game. No big plays, no turnovers, etc and I think we'll be fine. But if we give them any reason to believe it will be a battle no doubt. UK is obviously the classic trap game. In between UF and AU, and on the road. Stoops will be trying to get his first signature win. On the positive side, their rush defense is atrocious so that eases my worrying a bit.

Overall, we ain't done shti yet, and I would appreciate if people would quit talking about the future and jinxing us. We as UGA fans should know better.

nah man...our D will look even better in both of these contests...book it...UK was smoke and mirrors first half of this season..and UF's atrocious offense...with or without Driskel...will allow our front 7 to pin those ears back...be worried about the barn...but we wont lose another east game...
