How pissed would you be as an Auburn/Alabama fan if KState/WVU got in?

Say WVU or Kansas State win the Big 12 and they get in with one or two losses, while Alabama or Auburn sits at 1 or 2 losses (outside of the SECCG if Miss. St/Ole Miss win the division), and gets passed over by the committee.

What would your reaction be to the overall structure of the college football playoff if you knew you had beaten a team that is in the top 4 while you having just as many losses would be left on the sidelines?

If K-State has 1 loss and it's to what was the #6 team, why shouldn't they get in?

If Alabama or Auburn finishes with one loss, they will get in over WVA or KS. If they have two, they won't, and both fan bases wold be OK with that.

The committee has already demonstrated back during the summer that they would take a non-conference winner with a better resume over a conference winner. WVA won't get in over a one loss Bama, and KS won't get in over a one loss AU.

I agree 100%. I think 1 loss ala or aub are in regardless. Ap would have either team ranked #1 overall

I just don't think the committee would do that. I believe they will default to conference champions. That's why I made the thread.

If any team got in with the same amount of losses, I wouldn't be happy about it. Auburn is scheduled to play 5 top 10 teams all on the road the way things stand right now. K-State, Moo State, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Alabama. Show me a team anywhere that plays a tougher schedule. Of course, I am afraid Auburn will have too many losses to get in just because of that schedule

Neither team will be in it after we terrorize Layla Kiffin in Death Valley and Barner takes Saban again in the Iron Bowl

So KState will deserve it with 1 loss

WV is not in the conversation and will not be with two loses already.

Well again, I was putting up a hypothetical. I wasn't talking about upcoming games.

You realize both Auburn and Alabama would have to be conference champs also to finish with 1 loss correct?

So if Ole Miss and Alabama both win out Ole Miss is division champs so play for SEC.CG and Bama is a 1 loss non Conf champ. What am I missing? Hell since OM has already beatin Bama they could make the above happen with even 1 loss.

Think that will matter? They will try their best to have only conference champs if they can. We should know more next week, but I think anti-SEC will come into play. Out of the AL and MS schools, the only one with a big enough name to overcome that is Bama.(Its college, the name on the front your jersey, usually means more than your resume)
Think of it this way. If Bama has the same resume as say UK, UNC, or Duke in basketball. Who gets the higher seed?

Wrong for both. Both need a little help to win the division. They don't control their own destiny.

I think it just depends on how it plays out. If Auburn gets in a groove, they'll be tough to deny with the schedule and how high profile the last games will be. But let's say AU stumbles once or twice before the IB and Alabama beats a 9-2 AU team in boring fashion, it'll be a tougher sell.

I think the eye test will come into play. As much as I fear non-SEC people picking the 4, I find it hard to believe the playoff would leave out Alabama or Auburn on a serious tear and likely ranked top 4.

You may be right. This could turn into a 2011 season, which I said it would take for the SEC to get 2 teams in.
All we know now, is there is still a lot of losses left, and anything could happen. Hell, Ole Miss and MSU are in the top 3, and Baylor and TCU are the 2 best teams in TX. Why even act like we will know what will happen.
