I am not a fan of his, but Lowder has never actually been found guilty of doing anything wrong.

Bringing news like this to the rant is also laughable. You can find several Alabama graduates on that same list Rane is on for whatever that is worth, including Bob Riley and James Holbrook

Corrupt Alabama politics, nothing to see here.

Their election platform only needs to be about God, Guns, Mexicans suck, gays threaten families, black people kill the economy, Obama is the devil for one side and free rent, phones, food, and monthly allowance for the other, all while both sides try to siphon public funds/enact legislation to line their pockets and disregard what actually benefits Alabama.

Yeah, not a two party guy. I agree with Repubs more, but detest both. I voted for Gary Johnson last cycle FWIW.

None of the charges will stick. This was done to get some of the heat off Big Luther Stranges Office. Hubbard is guilty, but he covered his track very well. Meanwhile our dumb arse Governor is still trying to figure a way to bring more minimum wage jobs to Alabama, so he can finally draw a salary.

Getting off topic but everyone in Montgomery is a "Obama Liberal" or "Medicaid Killer" according to the commercials. That's literally all they're running on.

I love the commercials from the Governor claiming he has reduced unemployment by 20% in his four years. That means he has brought the overall unemployment level down 1.6% from the lowest economic period since the Great Depression. And the idiots of the state are buying it.

James Holbrook Jr.

Holbrook is the former CEO of Sterne Agee Group Inc., a Birmingham-based investment bank, where he oversaw an aggressive expansion that involved numerous domestic and international acquisitions. The Sterne Agee board fired him earlier this year, after litigation by a former chief financial officer at the bank alleged that Holbrook misused company resources for private purposes.

At the same time that Sterne Agee fired Holbrook, it sued its auditing firm, maintaining that the firm misstated shareholder equity. Bloomberg news service has reported that the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of the Treasury were investigating Holbrook. Hubbard is charged with soliciting or receiving a thing of value from Holbrook, in the form of a $150,000 investment in Craftmaster

This stands out to me. This guy is already under investigation and if can be linked to Hubbard then the Feds win

The Feds are not going after Hubbard, it is the AG.

Yeah, this issue is so laughable to me. It's inevitable that expansion will have to occur under the market driven price spikes, so basically all Alabama is doing is cutting off their nose to spite their face. Alabama is already a federal government welfare baby, so to put their foot down on this issue is laughable. All Alabama has done is ensured more people go uninsured, more ER visits for routine health issues occur, inevitably leading to much higher costs for the state in the long run.

I understand the principle behind the decision, but it's as illogical as a decision can be. As an example, prior to "ObamaCare", I could get a pretty good insurance policy for $120/month - that same policy is now over $300.

I think the Feds watched the Barron trail and learned they could not get a conviction. This has been rumored for over a year.
